CURSED CURSED THIS IS SO CURSED

I DON'T KNOW HOW TO FEEL ABOUT IT.

Fawn's POV

My lips formed a soft pout as I fiddled with this dress in the mirror. The sequins glittered and moved with me, but I felt myself thinking about how it hugged my waist weirdly...

And my knees look a little strange...are my arms the right length? Why does my neck look so long...

Why am I picking apart my appearance?

Never before have I done this. Never have I ever worried about my looks, so why have I been recently?

There was a knock to the bathroom door that made my back straighten.

"Dear? You've been in there for 20 minutes, are you alright?" Came Alastor's voice.

My cheeks heated up and I pursed my lips at my reflection. He told me it was pretty in the store, but was he lying? Does he actually like it?

Sighing, I figured me standing here and worrying about it isn't going to help solve anything. So, I turned and headed to the door, pulling it open quickly.

Alastor stood there with his hand raised like he was about to knock again, but his surprised eyes shifted down to me and his lips parted slightly.

Lowering his hand, he gave me a long look. His silence was making me nervous.

"D-does it look bad?" I asked him, biting my lip. He blinked and looked into my eyes like I'd just said the most offensive thing he's ever heard.

"Bad?" He scoffed, "darling, I've never seen an article of clothing look so fantastic on another human being before in my life," he said with no hesitation.

The blush on my face deepened by about ten shades probably, and I couldn't help but smile at his compliment. My doubts dwindled, and I became more comfortable in the dress.

"Thanks..." I breathed out in a relived sigh, then took a moment to observe his outfit.

He was wearing a suit, of course, the fabric of the jacket being a deep brown with lighter pinstripes. Underneath, he wore a maroon vest, paired with a plain white dress shirt.

And we can't forget the the little black bow tie.

Giggling, I covered my mouth and pointed at his ensemble, "you look like a gangster," I snorted softly.

He quirked an eyebrow and glanced down at himself. A smirk tugged at the corner of his mouth and he bent forward with lowered eyelids, "then tonight you're my moll, doll~" he purred deeply, offering his hand to me.

I cursed this stupid blush on my face, taking his hand and shying away from him at the same time.

"Stop that, you womanizer..." I chastised him lightly with a smile.

He chuckled and led me down the hallway towards the front door. After opening the door for me, he motioned me out with a bow.

"Oh, you're too kind, sir," I said to him with a playful scrunch in my nose. It was his turn to blush, and he shook his head before slipping out after me and shutting the door.

The car ride started off quiet. I sat as I always did with my knees pulled up, elbow rested on the door as I stared out the window and watched the beautiful scenery pass by.

He didn't say how far away this place was, just that it was a secret and I can't tell anyone else about it. Apparently this is a speakeasy where if you don't know about it, you're probably not supposed to be there.
