Sorry for the wait. Let the story...BEGIN!

He swallows visibly and he doesn't look at me. He smiles sadly and it makes my heart constrict.

"I don't exactly know where to start," he says.

"You don't have to tell me now," I coax.

"No I want to," he says. He takes a deep breath and finally he looks at me but his eyes are so distant I think he's looking past me.

Flashback to 3 years ago

"Ian open the door, okay?" His half sister Mabel yelled on the other end of his apartment door.

Ian groaned. She's been out there knocking and shouting since 6am and as he checked his bedside clock he realized that only 5 minutes had passed. But it still felt like many hours.

"Ian!" She screamed at the door.

He got up and looked out the window. He could see her car and the person that was currently taking residence in it.

His girlfriend or ex, he didn't really know, or didn't really care, Anna.

He didn't like his half sister, Mabel, so much. He's only known her 5 years of his 21 years.

Her father had kept her away from their family until he realized he couldn't control her anymore. She was 18 then and he was 16 when his mother introduced her to the family. And he'd realized right away that she resembled him more than she resembled his mother, Seige or Maia.

Seige was 14 at the time and Maia was 21. They adapted easier to her presence. Seige was more attracted to beauty than character, and yes, she was beautiful. Maia, on the other hand, had always wanted a sister and so Maia would take Mabel shopping and take her to clubs and whatever.

For some reason Mabel tried building a relationship with Ian, however, he did not want anything to do with her.

Someone so beautiful could easily get her own way and she seldom did. Besides, he was a teenager. He was going through puberty and all sorts of hormones were running wild within him. And he couldn't understand, for the love of God, why she had to look so much like him.

So he ignored her mostly until she got pregnant at 2o and had a girl child, named Ginger. Of course he loved Ginger immediately without questioning. He found himself spending more and more time with her for Ginger's sake. And Lord, we didn't understand how it happened, but Mabel fell for her half brother, Ian.

Of course, being completely oblivious to this, Ian started dating Mabel's best friend, Anna.

Back to the now, 3 years later where Mabel was still banging on his apartment door.

He opened the door, a rush of anger spreading through him, "what!"

She stormed in, "I've been banging on your door for 10 minutes!"

"And I've been ignoring you for that 10 minutes!" He yelled back.

It was his apartment and he could yell all he wanted.

She seemed to calm down when she said quietly, "Anna wants to talk to you."

"So shouldn't she be the one in here right now?"

He and Anna were on and off for the last 2 years. It was getting real boring.

"She's crying her eyes out for you!"
