Special Delivery Pt 2

----Melinda

Carly went into labor a week later and I wasn't far behind her.  We were stuck at the department store due to inclement weather.  Larissa was rubbing my back trying to help me through my contractions.  Carly was on full blown labor.

----Alex

Doc walked over with the surgeon.  "How are they?"

"Carly is barely dilated.  She has another hour before we have to take the baby.  Melinda had the twins via c-section, she most likely will have to have this one the same way."  Matt said.

Liam walked over.  "What's going on?"

"We need supplies."  Matt said.  "There's a hospital on the other side of town."

"How soon?"  Liam asked.

"Yesterday."  Matt said.

"Done."  I said.

"Alex, I'll go."  Liam said.

"No.  You stay here with Mel.  She's still convinced it's yours, but my genes are stronger so we'll see."  I said.

"Right."  He said.

That night, I was grabbing something for Melinda to eat when Larissa ran over.  "She's bleeding.  Matt says he needs to do a c-section now or else neither her or the baby will make it."

"Alex should be back soon."  I said following her back to Melinda.  Carly was holding a healthy baby boy.

"Melinda, you cannot push."  Matt said.

"Get my baby out."  She sobbed.

"Mels, Alex should be back soon."  I said.

Doc had to start and the group arrived.  Everyone but Alex.  "Where's Alex?"  I asked.

"There was a whole group of those things.  We got separated."

"Do not tell Melinda.  I will tell her myself."  I said.

Melinda was asleep after the surgery, I was holding a healthy baby boy.  He was small, but he was doing good considering the circumstances.

I heard yelling at the front door.  I handed the boy to Larissa and ran toward the front.  It was Alex.  "I thought I was going to have to tell her you didn't make it."

"Yeah I'm alive after this prick got me trapped with a fuck ton of zombie freaks."  Alex said.  "We can discuss it later.  Is she alright?"

"She lost a lot of blood.  She had a boy.  She's stitched up.  Both her and Carly are high risk of infection right now."  I said.  He followed me back to Melinda.  Doc looked up and saw Alex.

"You're tough son of a bitch."  He said.  Rachel and Riley ran over to Alex and he picked them up.  Alex saw the newest addition.

"Yup, he's a Liam clone."  He said.

"Really?  I can't tell."  I joked.

"He's hours old and he has your annoying smirk."  Melinda said quietly.  I turned and saw she was awake.  "And you."  She said looking at Alex.  "I heard and I am not happy about it at all.  Whoever it was better hope I don't find out they did it."

"Give it time before you kick someone's ass.  You need rest.  When you, Carly, and the babies are fit for travel we will head toward the other compound."  Doc said.
