Baby Again

***upon my re-read realized I messed up who was with Nick when he died.  I'll fix it.***

After dinner, Liam gave me a kiss and went to man his post.  Alex helped me clean up and put the kids to bed.  I pushed him onto the bed and climbed on him.  His lips met mine in an urgent kiss.

I unbuttoned his shirt and slid it off.  He tossed it aside.  He slid off my camisole moving his lips down my neck and chest.

----Liam

"Hi."  I heard.  I turned and saw one of the girls we saved.

"Hi?"  I said.

"Steph."  She said.  I nodded.

"Everything okay?"  I asked.

"Yeah.  Just weird sleeping in a real bed."  She said.

"It'll get better."  I said.

"Do you like having to share your woman with another man?"  She asked.

"It doesn't bother me.  We've been together for almost two years."  I said.

"I don't get it, why settle for one woman you have to share when you could have anyone else?"  She asked.

"It's called love and commitment."  I said.  She leaned against the wall beside me.

"Well, if you ever need to just get that dick wet, let me know."  She said.  Yeah right, you don't even make me hard.  I thought to myself.

"No thanks."  I said.  "Only guards are aloud up here."  I said.

She disappeared down the ladder.

After my shift, I returned home, Melinda was still awake when I returned.  She was sitting on the couch.  "He didn't put you to sleep?"  I asked kissing her.

"Nightmares."  She said.

He sat beside me.  "You're safe.  I promise."  He said.

"I know.  That doesn't stop the dreams."  I said.

"I'm sorry.  I wish I could."  He said.  "Mels?"  I looked at him.  "That chick, Steph, propositioned me."

"Oh.  And?"  I asked.

"I told her no.  Mels, I don't want anyone else.  I told you that.  You know that.  I can share with Alex because we both get you.  We want you to be happy."  Liam said.

"But are you?"  I asked.

"Yes."  He said.

"So am I."  I heard.  I saw Alex in the doorway.

Morning came, I was sitting in the sandbox with Rachel and Riley.  I saw Alex walking with the Captain.  Steph walked over and sat down.  "Hey."  She said.  I didn't say anything.  "What?"

"So, did you go after Alex too or just Liam?"  I asked.

"W-what?"  She asked.

"They tell me everything.  It won't work to lie."  I said.

Alex walked over.  "Daddy!"  Rachel said reaching for him.

"Hey you."  He said picking her up.

"Like you know who their dad is."  Steph said.

"Alex is their dad biologically.  Liam is their dad too.  Not like its your business anyway."  I said.  "They have two dads.  So what?"  I said.  Liam walked over and Riley ran to him.  He picked him up.

"We let you live here.  Be respectful to someone who helped you.  She didn't have to."  Liam said.

I was out in the garden with Carly and Larissa.  "Mel?"  I looked up at Carly.  "Can I tell you something?"

"You're pregnant?"  I asked.

"H-how did you know?"  She asked.

"Lucky guess.  Don't worry.  It's fine.  I'm fine."  I said.

"Hi."  I looked up from my paperwork and saw Steph.  I nodded at her and she sat down beside me.  I ignored her.  I stood up when she slid her hand over my thigh toward my junk.

"You really don't want to do that."  I said.  She shoved me into the wall.  I tried pushing her off me.

I saw Stephanie and Alex when I went into the armory.  "You didn't listen to me yesterday."  Alex was trying not to hurt her.  "He's too much of a gentleman to risk hitting a woman, but I won't hesitate."  I said yanking her off Alex and shoving her onto the floor.

Alex caught me by the waist.  "Mel, you know the captain's rules."  He said.

"Don't touch him and don't touch Liam."  I said.

"Slut."   She said and I lunged at her.  Alex caught me and threw me over his shoulder.  He carried me outside and Liam saw.

"Hey.  What's going on?"  Liam asked.

"Steph."  Alex said.  He set me on my feet.  Steph walked out and saw me.

"Stay away from them."  I said.
