You would think that being the chosen one would have perks, but in this case it doesn't. Almost everyone in the world knows within a matter of days that you are destined to be with this unknown ruler. A group of people who now must protect you, are you best friends, your comrades, and maybe even a lover or two.
The trip across country is brutal to say the least. People gathered on the street, some who swear they love you, some who swear they hate you. Each person with a different idea in mind as to how they are supposed to help get you from one place to the next.
Melinda Carver is the chosen one and enters a new level of hell when she finds out that she must make this trip for the sake of the world. Talk about pressure.
Benjamin James is the ruler on the other side. He provides a list of rules for Melinda to follow which includes no falling for other men, no relations with other men. All while, Ben can sleep with as many women as he wants.
When it comes down to the nitty gritty, Melinda is faced with a choice, continue this trip or be stuck with a couple of guys who will do anything and everything for her.
