Day Five

Within the last few days, we have came across groups and groups of people who became ill.

We came across two other guys who hit it off right away with April and Mary.  I was sitting by the lake wrapped in my blanket.

"We have a fire started."  Alex said walking over.

"Mary and April are extremely busy with our newbies."  I said.  "At least someone is getting some."  I said.  He cleared his throat before holding out his hand.  I took it and he helped me up.  "Sorry.  I know the whole situation makes you uncomfortable."  I said.

"It's fine."  He said.

I sat between Liam and Alex by the fire.  "Can one of you help me stay warm tonight?"  I asked.

"Mel, that's crossing a line we aren't supposed to cross."

"It gets really cold out.  The blankets only work so much.  It's not like I'm taking my clothes off."  I said.  Liam smirked.  "Come on, please."  I said.

"We are still sleeping in shifts.  We will switch off."  Alex said.

The feeling of Alex and Liam holding me that night was a feeling I didn't want to forget, let alone not feel at all.

I woke up early the next morning, alone.  "We can't."  Alex said in a hushed voice.  "Why can't we just tell Ben she took off on us and we can't find her, then disappear with her?"

"He'll send someone to find her and have us killed."  Liam said.

"He fucks any woman in the compound anyway.  He's not going to change just because she shows up."  Alex said.

I unzipped the tent and they went quiet.  "I heard what you said.  Keep talking.  I'd like to know what kind of hell I'm being forced into against my will."

"Mel, we don't approve of what we have to do."  Alex said.

"It's just if you don't do it you die.  If you do it, you what?  Get a fair pick of the women this ass sleeps with?  Sloppy seconds?"  I said.

"No, we just get to live."  Liam said.

"What does he know about me?"  I asked.

"Well, he knows your name and that you're a female."  Liam said.

"He knows you're beautiful."  Alex said.  Liam threw something at him.

"You being a virgin makes him want you more."  Liam said.

"Who said I was a virgin?"  I asked.

"Aren't you?"  Alex asked.

"Maybe I am, maybe not."  I said.  "If I'm not he won't be interested."

"He would still be interested."  Liam said.

"Until he finds a new virgin."  Alex said.

"Got it.  I'll just be another person in his bed."  I said.  I grabbed my knife and went for a walk.

Alex caught up with me.  "Look, I'm sorry."  He said.

"Why don't I just take off then you don't have to worry about delivering me?"  I asked.

"He'd find you and not be kind about it."  Alex said.

I looked around and the coast was clear.  I made him kiss me.  He unwillingly pulled away.  "What?"  I asked.

"We can't.  I'm sorry."  He said.  His hands held mine.

"I'm just going to be another notch in his headboard.  No one cares, but you and Liam.  I'm just some package to everyone.  I'm a human being."  I said.  I made him kiss me again.  His hands slid over my back.

"You are a human being which is why I'm not going to do this.  It's not that I don't want to.  I don't want to risk any problems for you."  He said his forehead against mine.  "It's my job to keep you safe."  He said.

"I'm just a job to you and Liam."  I said, he brushed my tears away.

"You know we don't want to do this."  He said.

"Then why?"  I asked.

"You know why."  He said.
