I was sitting against the wall in the back of the truck. My arms around my legs, Alex sat down beside me with a first aid kit. He opened the first aid kit and carefully cleaned the cut on my neck.
"Do you want to go home?" He asked.
"Yes and no." I said. Liam climbed up to the back of the truck.
"Truck is running." He said closing the back door. "We're going to camp here for the night. Are we going home?" Liam asked.
"We have one more town to hit." I said. "We can head back tomorrow after that."
Liam made a bed on the floor of the truck. "Are you okay?" Liam asked.
"My head just hurts a little." I said. Alex slid his arm around me and I curled up to his side. He tightened his arm around me. Liam handed me a bag of chips and sat on the other side of me.
"We should have stayed home." Liam said.
"No. Then I'd still be in that bed." I said. "It wasn't the first herd and it won't be the last." I said.
"She's fine. She's tough." Alex said.
"Yeah and you just want to get laid." I said making him laugh.
"Maybe. I know I'm not the only one." Alex said.
"I'm not in the mood now." I said.
"We can fix that." Liam said.
"Maybe later." I said. "I lost my rings." I said quietly.
"We can get you new ones." Alex said.
I finished eating some chips and curled up in my sleeping bag. "I've got first watch. I'll switch you in a few hours." Alex said.
"All right." Liam said. "Move over baby." I did and Liam slid into the sleeping bag with me.
"Behave." I said and Liam laughed.
"Then stop squirming." He said in my ear.
I was sound asleep, Liam asleep on his back with me practically laying on him. His arms wrapped around me.
Morning came, I was eating poptarts while sitting in Liam's lap while Alex drove to the next town. "Mels, stop squirming." Liam said.
"Awe, problems?" I asked. He wrapped his arms around me and kissed my neck and behind my ear. I laughed as he tickled me. Alex smiled watching me laugh.
We got to the next town and I got out of the truck and I ran ahead of them. "Mel wait!" A man stepped out of the building by the store we were going into, he had a shotgun. I slid to a stop in the loose gravel and fell on my butt.
Alex and Liam ran over and got in front of me. "This is my property." The man said.
"No problem. We can go somewhere else." Alex said helping me up.
"You two can. She's staying with me." The man said grabbing my arm.
"Not happening." Liam said. "Alex, get Mel back to the truck." I tried pulling my arm free. The man yanked on my arm so hard that Alex lost his hold on me and the man threw me down on the ground behind me.
"Leave now before I kill all of you." He said.
"Alright fine." Liam said. "We'll go."
"Good." Another man said coming out. He grabbed me and threw me over his shoulder.
"Don't have to be so rough with her. She'll do whatever you want within reason." Alex said keeping an eye on me. "If you force her, she'll cause a big scene." Alex said. "She can get pretty violent if she has to."
They vanished from sight once the man carried me inside. He tossed me on the couch. "We're going." Liam said.
