BEFORE I knew it, the bell had rung for lunch and it was both a good, and a bad thing. Firstly, I was starving. But the bad news was that our maths exam was after lunch and I was finally starting to let the nervousness consume me.

"Six days and seven more hours of this - I don't think I can stand it!" Maddy said from beside me and Rhydian. I nodded in understanding. She was finding this difficult and it was easy to see. A thin layer of sweat covered her forehead, she was shaking all over and her heart was beating rapidly.

I didn't want to have to do this, but I didn't really have a choice. I took her bag off her shoulder and dug around the front pocket for the soaked tissue.

"What are you-" her face paled as I held up the tissue, "No way Lia."

I looked at the tissue and gagged at the sight. It was covered in lint and it still smelt rank. But it had the rescue remedy and she needed it desperately. I sighed, "You don't really have a choice, unfortunately."

She looked at it and cringed harshly. She stood in a trance of consideration for a moment before shaking her head, "No. I'm sorry, I can't. That's just vile."

"Maddy-" I started, only to be rudely interrupted by the blonde boy beside me, "What on earth is that? That smells absolutely rank!" I almost rolled my eyes at the sight of him covering his nose and mouth with his hands.

"Oh don't be such a drama queen, Rhydian. It's rescue remedy, it's supposed to help calm you down. Maddy, this will help-" The brunette took the tissue out of my hands and chucked it into the nearest bin before I could finish explaining. I threw my hands up in the air, "Brilliant! So when you're on the verge of wolfing out in that exam, what are you going to do?"

She sighed, "I'll push through it." I placed a hand on my forehead and she placed a hand on my arm, "Look, I'm sorry but there was no way I was going to put that anywhere near my mouth."

I sighed and removed my hand from my face, "You have a point. But when Mom makes that remedy tomorrow, you will drink it."

She threw her hands up in defence, "Okay, I swear to you I will drink it. But all of this doesn't change the fact that I'm going to completely flunk this exam if I don't calm down."

Rhydian perked up, "Do you want to know what helps?" Maddy looked up at him and shrugged, "Tell me. I'll try anything."

He grinned a dorky grin and grabbed out hands, pulling us through the crowd of students. He led us all the way outside and let go of our hands, "You know the best way to get rid of the pre-transformation blues? Move!"
