AFTER LUNCH, it was time for our last lesson of the day, Drama. I was burnt out, both physically and mentally and could barely stay awake, let alone do practical work.

The closer it got to moonrise, the worse we were beginning to feel. Laying down in my bed and sleeping until the next morning sounded like heaven.

I watched Shannon warily from across the room and chewed my lip. It seemed as more days passed the closer and more confident she became about discovering the truth and it made me sick to my stomach with anxiety.

Maddy threw me a paper booklet. We were studying a thriller novella at the moment from the 1800s called 'The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.' I was quite enjoying it. We had already analysed half of the book in English and had started to look at the characters' personalities in Drama.

The brunette came and stood by my side, "You okay?" She asked through a yawn. I nodded, "Yeah, it's just that Shan's getting closer to finding out."

She nodded and glanced at the girl from across the room, "Yeah... I know."

"What's got you two looking so down?" Rhydian asked as he came over to us, booklet in hand.

"Shannon." We both replied at once.

"Ah," he replied, standing beside us, "No one believes her though." He said, trying to make us feel better. I nodded, "True, but how long is it before she comes up with a theory that actually makes sense and people begin to believe her?" I posed.

The three of us sighed in unison. Maddy turned back to us, "Putting that aside, I want my best friend back... I miss her."

I slung my arm over her shoulders, "We all do. I'm just hoping she'll get bored and let it go soon."

"Right! Gather round everyone!" Our Drama teacher called out. We all stood in a circle around her, waiting for her to begin talking about what we were going to be doing today.

She folded her arms and slowly walked around. Her eyes locked on the blonde boy next to me, "Do you have another side, Rhydian?"

She averted her gaze to Maddy, "What about you, Maddy?" She stood still in front of me and looked at me carefully, "Lia? A dark side that no one else sees?"

I hid my smile. She had no idea.

"No?" She asked before addressing the rest of the class, "Right! Everyone get yourselves into pairs, name yourselves Jekyll or Hyde."

Maddy grabbed my arm and I went with her to an empty spot of the room. Tom was with Rhydian and Shannon was with her study mate for maths.

"This is a mirror exercise," she explained, "Dr Jekyll thinks he can control his dark side, but can he? Jekyll's you lead, Hyde's you must obey your master. Go!"
