AS WE entered the grand household, we were hit with blasting music and bright flashing lights of all sorts of colours. The place reaked of sweet cakes and coke it was almost sickening.

The loud music vibrated off of the walls and was killing my ears. I was glad that I had decided to wear my hair half down because my ears would've died from the racket.

I spotted Tom and Shannon sitting on the staircase, both of them looking bored out of their minds. Tom caught my eye and waved us over. We sat down beside them and I nudged Shannon, "I didn't think you two were coming!" I shouted over the noise of the music.

"We changed our minds. I mean, I haven't got anything better to do!" Shannon replied, just about loud enough for me to hear her.

We chatted for a while until the stench of teenagers finally hit me. I scrunched up my nose at the smell, "I'm going to get a drink, does anyone want anything?" I offered the group as I stood up. They all declined my offer with a 'no thanks.'

I clambered over the people who were also sitting on the stairs and when I finally reached the bottom, the door flew open, revealing none other than Maddy.

I rushed over to her, "What are you doing here, Mads?! You're supposed to be in the cellar!"

She scoffed, "You didn't actually think that I'd stay in there, did you?! I've come to show Kay who's top dog!"

I shook my head at the girl, "Are you insane?! You almost transformed last time!"

"Look, you might be here to not have fun, but I'm going to!" And she shoved passed me, making her way through the crowd and into the living room where Kay was showing off her dance moves.

I glanced over at Rhydian who shared my weairy look. Hell was about to break loose on the dance floor.

I cautiously made my way over to the drinks table and I examined her every move as she battled with Kay, looking for any signs of her transforming. Rhydian was stood up on the stairs, ready to run over if he needed to which gave me some sense of comfort.

I watched her closely as the spotlight was slowly being taken away from Kay and onto Maddy.

"Enjoying the show?" A voice asked from beside me. I turned to face the owner and I rolled my eyes when I was faced with Jimi, "No, not really."

He just shrugged and started messing around at the drinks table behind me. My eyes stayed locked on Maddy. There were no veins and her eyes hadn't turned yellow, yet.

"For you." A voice stated from beside me. My eyebrows shot up in surprise to see Jimi offering me a drink. I took it cautiously from him, "Why are you being nice?"
