ME, MADDY AND RHYDIAN sat in the living room after we had helped Tom prepare the meat before cooking. Rhydian was struggling to get his one-size-too-small boots on from Shannon as we discussed the beast situation.

"So, neither of you smelt or sensed anything?" Maddy asked us, standing by the coffee table in the middle of the cozy room. Me and Rhydian shook our heads from our places on the sofa. She sighed and flopped down onto a single couch.

"So, she's wrong?" Rhydian suggested. Maddy blew her nose again before replying, "Maybe not."

I nodded in agreement and bit my thumb nail, "Maybe it's smart. It is a wild wolfblood, after all. They probably have loads of tactics and things that they can use to their advantage that we're not even aware of."

"What I don't understand is why Shannon needs to see it." Rhydian huffed from beside me. I looked up at Maddy as she replied, "Her family thinks she's crazy. I mean seriously crazy. Shan's starting to wonder if they're right. She needs to know that it's real and that we're going to help her... even if it means one of us transforming to do it."

I shot up from my seat as soon as her sentence ended, "What?! Are you crazy?!"

"Are you three coming?" Shannon called to us from the kitchen. "Coming!" Maddy called back to her and walked out of the room. My jaw was hung open, "Right! That's it! I can officially confirm that she's gone insane." I stated.

"We have to convince her out of this." Rhydian agreed as he finished tying his laces. I scoffed with an amused smile, "Yeah, that'll be fun."

I appreciated the fact that Maddy wanted to help Shannon, we all adored the girl after all, but transforming was just too much of a risk to take, especially after what happened last time. Her mind was clouded with ways she could help Shannon and it was dragging her away from realising the danger that transforming posed.

The five of us gathered around the map of Stoneybridge that was resting on the table in the center of the room, "So," Shannon began, pulling out a pen, "Okay, this is us. And, according to the newspapers, the Parkers lost two sheep three days ago." She stated, drawing a little red cross on the Parkers' farmland.

"Howdale lost a ram just last week and we've High Field and Barfield that both lost animals just last night," She told us, drawing more red crosses, "And then we have Wilson, Booboo and Hermione. So, if we join the dots together..."

My eyes widened at the map as she joined the dots together, "It's circling the village." I stated. That was not a good sign, because it meant that it was still here, but the good news was that it wouldn't attack the village or any of our animals since both were on our territory, and it knew better than to try and attack the village.
