Chapter 35:
Leaving
Kylie's.
Two months had passed. October na ngayon and currently the last day for our first semester. Everything went smoothly for the past months. Hindi pa rin kami okay ni Mitchie but we treat each other as classmates na lang. We are still not in speaking terms.
And, yes. We just let her.
We don't talk anymore unless if it's academic related.
I can only brought her nothing but pain.
Si Janelle naman ay kinakausap ko lang din if it's academic related. For these past two months, I really busied myself in my academics since we are graduating students and I am still not losing sight of my goals. I want to graduate with high honors and probably be the valedictorian of our batch.
We knocked in our research instructor's office. After giving our thanks, we exited in the office at doon ko na rin iniwan si Janelle.
Nakasalubong ko si Ace sa hallway and we both smiled to each other. He also got busy with academics and kahit friends na kami, nandoon pa din ang rivalry sa'ming dalawa and may the best valedictorian wins. But it's a healthy competition, unlike the last time. This is only our way to get motivated in our studies. Somehow, the thought of defeating him really motivates me and it's weird.
We stopped in our tracks when we faced each other. Nagpamulsa siya at napahalukipkip naman ako.
Besides sa academics, he also got busy in SSG.
He smiled at me at biglang napalitan ng pag-nguso. "Baka hindi ka na umuwi, ah?"
I chuckled when I remembered telling him that I'll visit Australia this semestral break.
We both laughed.
"Pero, seriously, mamimiss kita. Ingat ka doon, ha? Let's keep in touch."
"Thank you, Ace.
Dahil may hiya ako, nagooffer din ako ng libre sa kaniya until it became our routine to treat each other. This is our way to take a break from academics.
"I'll miss it too." He smiled after chuckling.
