Surprise
Kylie's.
Nagising ako sa malakas na alarm ng cellphone ko. Still sleepy, I turned it off then got back from sleeping again. Hindi pa nagtatagal ang pagbalik ko ulit sa tulog nang magvibrate ang phone ko.
Sa pag-aakala na may chat si Mitchie, nagdilat ako ng mata.
I looked at it with a half-open eye and I saw a notification from Facebook.
It's Ace Garcia's birthday today.
For some people that ignore these kinds of notifications, I literally got up from bed and scratch my eyes to read the notification again. Hindi nagbago ang nasa screen. Birthday talaga ni Ace ngayon.
Naalala ko na naman ang nangyari kahapon! I slept on his lap! Nakakahiya ka, Kylie!
I covered my face with both of my palms. Ginulo ko rin ang buhok dahil sa pagkahiya.
Makakalimutan niya naman siguro iyon dahil birthday niya naman? Of course, his mind would be occupied by his celebration.
Pero baka hindi niya rin makalimutan dahil kahapon lang nangyari?
I really hate my mind sometimes!
Makaligo na nga lang para mahimasmasan ako.
Ace’.
I woke up with a loud noise coming from downstairs. Why does this day feels different?
Napabangon na lamang ako dahil tumunog na rin naman ang alarm ko. Kumuha na rin ako ng towel para makaligo na at bumaba na sa hagdan.
As soon as I stepped my foot at the last step of our stairs, I got startled by my mom's voice.
"Happy birthday, anak!" she greeted me followed by a hug.
Oh. Birthday ko?
Yeah, right!
My conversation with Kylie yesterday suddenly filled my mind. Sa daming iniisip tungkol sa club, nakalimutan kong kinabukasan na pala ang birthday ko.
I smiled at my mom and hugged her. “Thank you, Mommy.”
Only child lang ako at kaming dalawa lang ni Mommy sa buhay. My dad left us.
My mom smiled at me widely before she broke the hug. "Magluluto ako ng maraming pagkain mamaya. You should invite your friends later!"
Ngumiti lamang ako kay mommy. My mom always does this — making my day always special but she doesn't know with only her by my side, I am satisfied enough to call it a happy birthday.
Hindi ko din naman alam kung may maiimbita akong mga kaibigan...
My phone beeped na nasa bulsa ng shorts ko. Inilabas ko iyon.

Happy birthday, Ace! Have a best one! God bless you! ^^
Agad na sumilay ang ngiti sa labi ko. She's the first one (except for my mom) who greeted me.
I replied my "thank you" at pumasok na ng banyo para makaligo.
Since Kylie greeted me, why don't I invite her later?

Nang nakapasok ako sa room, nandoon na agad si Mitchie kaya agad akong lumapit sa kaniya. Buti na lang at wala pa si Ace!
