"Thank you for your consideration. I will not take long." Emily answered back. She then began wal Yeah they kind of saved me from having to describe them too somewhatking toward her horse, making sure not to step on the larger sticks on the ground. Once she reached her stallion, Colbolt, she took a peek at the inventory because she did not know what her horse was carrying. Finding the food she broke off a small piece of bread and grabbed some water. She wanted to sit down, but it would have been hard to do with Princess Elnora wrapped to her chest.
She didn't mind standing though, because she would be sitting for some hours until they took their next break. First, she drank some water because her mouth began feeling dry. Then she ate her bread. She was feeling bad for making them stay longer so she ate her bread a little fast and almost choked. Feeling foolish, Emily drank some water and then finished the rest of the bread.
"I'm almost ready to leave, Prince Jacobe," Emily announced. "I just need to drink more water and I'm good to go."
"I am drinking more water too, but don't drink too much so we won't have to stop again so soon. When you are done give me your waterskin so that I can refill it from the river." Jacobe said as he kneeled near the river.
Jacobe took two more gulps and then submerged his waterskin in the river, with the top angled up to get more water. Pulling the waterskin from the river, he checked to see if it was full. Satisfied with the amount of water, he puts the stopper back in it. Just then, Emily walks over with hers.
"I'm finished, my Prince." She said while handing it to him. Jacobe took the waterskin from her and filled it up. Once again, he pulled it from the river to check if it was full. Noting that it was, he puts the stopper in it and stands up.
"Alright, it's time to go. I'll put your water back in your horse's pouch. Getting on your horse may be difficult with Elnora, so I'll hold her while you mount Colbolt. Once you are secure, she will be given back to you." Jacobe said as they walked to Colbolt.
Before taking Elnora, he puts Emily's water skin back and walks back to them. When he was back at Emily's side, she had already removed Elnora from the wrap. Gently taking Elnora, Jacobe looks down at her and smiles.
She looks just like mother, same brownish-red curly hair. Same button-style nose and pouty lips. While I take after our father more, being 5'10" with a medium stocky build. However, Elnora and I both have a light Carmel skin tone, while mother has a beautiful bronze tone and father a nice light beige color. We would have been so happy. Jacobe thought as he waited for Emily to tell him she was ready.
"I'm ready for Elnora, Prince Jacobe," Emily called down to him. He then, carefully, held Elnora upwards to Emily. He did not move until Elnora was securely in the wrap.
"I'll take the Archer's horse this time. We will stop for the night on the outskirts of the town of Heartreach. I would like to go to town just to see what's going on but I don't know if it is safe. The town of Heartreach is about 2 hours away so hang tight." Jacobe told Emily as he tied the archer's horse to his own and mounted his horse.
"The river is shallow enough to cross here. Let's go!" He said as he kicked his horse side to get him moving. Just like last time, they started slowly with a trot to not scare Elnora with the sudden speed. As Jacobe stated, the river was shallow enough for the horses to cross.
Jacobe was scared that they had stayed too long at the river, so he was looking around to check his surroundings. With only the full moon for light, he could not see very far. So he focused closely on what he could, to see if anything was suspicious. For now, the only things around him were trees and the forest's nocturnal animals.
He could see an owl, that was perched on a high branch of a big white Birch tree, swoop down to catch its prey. Watching the owl was fascinating. The owl was silent as it swooped down to get its prey. Only screeching once it was finally caught.
Seeing the owl capture its prey made Jacobe anxious. "We need to ride faster, how is Elnora?"Jacobe asked.
Emily looked down at the princess and saw she was sleeping peacefully. "She is sleeping, going faster should not awaken her," Emily replied.
As a response Jacobe made his horse run faster and Emily followed immediately.
