Jacobe POV

I was frozen, stuck looking at was lay in front of me. Emily was laying on the ground, huddled around Elnora as if she meant to protect her from something. But that's not what stopped me. She was pale, her arm was covered in blood, and I couldn't tell if she was breathing or not.

When Elnora cried out again, I sprang into action. Quickly, but thoroughly, I checked Elnora for injuries. She was completely unharmed, much to my relief, just a bit cold. I quickly looked through Colbolts pouches until I found a big cloth. Unfolding it, I could tell it was cut for some reason.

Ignoring the questions welling up in my head, I gently, yet snugly, wrap Elnora up so she can warm up. I lay her down and move to Emily.

Looking down, I quickly assess where my attention should go first. Then I decided to check to see if she is still alive. No use trying to help a dead person, it would only waste time.

Putting my hand to her neck, I search for a pulse and almost give up, until I feel a really weak one. I instantly break out in a cold sweat.

" I could try to save her, but she is almost dead. It would take way too long and we need to go. I should just put her out of her misery." I thought as I reached for my dagger. Just as I was about to plunge it into her heart I heard her speak.

"Must... protect... Elnora... need... to... go," she said. Her voice was so hoarse and soft, that I had to lean down to hear her. After what she said, how could I kill her?  We already have a lot of people after us, I don't want to take away someone who will help protect Elnora.

I felt ashamed for even thinking about it. So instead, I moved my attention to her arm. That's what appears to be the problem. Examining her arm, I see she wrapped her arm with some cloth.

"So that's why the cloth was cut. She is a fast thinker and very clever.  I'm happy she was with Elnora." I think as I use the dagger to cut the bandage off.

Once the bandage is off, I'm left surprised. Her arm was swollen, and her wound was a plethora of colors. Not to mention it was puss-filled.

We needed to move immediately, I had to take her to a doctor. I whistled and my horse came to me.

"Good girl," I said as I patted her on the neck.

Turning around, I made colbolt stand, so I could put Emily on him. After she was lain on Colbolt, I picked up Elnora and wrapped her to my chest once more.

There was no time to waste. I grabbed Colbolts reigns and made Ebony gallop. The next town was about 30 minutes away. We will get there in fourteen.

Trees became a blur as we dashed past them. Then I saw the road. I steered the horses to it and moments after I saw the town.

The town was a medium sized one, so the doctors building should be in the middle. Since it was still early, there wasn't many residents roaming the streets. Which was good, because I would not have moved out of the way.

I spot the doctors building and stop my horse at the door. Luckily, there are some posts to tie the horses. I hastily tie them tightly, them move to Colbolt.

Since Elnora is wrapped across my chest, I have to maneuver Emily on my back. Once I'm sure she won't fall, I quickly walk in to the building.

"I need a doctor, NOW!"
