"Epiphany Cafe - Late Afternoon"
"I wish there is a kind of coffee with a refreshing taste that can be served in the summer."
"If such a blend of coffee can be made, I would love to drink it! I'd buy it every day!"
"In the summer, I wish I could drink a cup of coffee that is light and refreshing."
"Iced coffee is too bitter, I don't like it at all. I guess if there was a coffee that was suitable for the summer, I'd try it. But it would have to be for a free sample. I'm definitely not paying for that shit!"
"Well at least he was honest," Joon said while licking his lips to separate two surveys that were sticking together.
"I mean he did take the time to fill it out." Jin shrugged his shoulders as he moved on to the next pile.
"This stack here talks about drinking cold tea and not hot. But a lot of older people visit temples to pray to their ancestors for good fortunes. So hot tea is definitely out of the question during the summer season."
"Yea, but if we offered the temples a cool brew that promised the same effect it might be worth the trouble." Jin was concentrating hard, looking at every single study that was taken.
"But we would have to make it a bundle deal and provide incense if we did something like that."
"Actually," Jin looked at Joon impressed. "I really like that idea."
Namjoon smiled with his infamous dimples. Getting praised by Jin made him feel proud, accomplished even. Which was stupid because he co-owned the place.
"When you own a shop like I do, it's difficult for me to sell coffee during the summer. Because the more you drink, the thirstier you are. I still sell a lot to the hospital staff down the street, but that's mostly first thing in morning around 5 a.m. They feel the need to intake caffeine so it will enter in their system faster. Most have 12-hour rotations, so they rely on me to help them start their day shift. The rest of the time I sell mostly cake and lemonade or iced tea."
Joon nodded as he looked over at Jin's island and stainless-steel sink. He had a huge overhead mounted sprayer that was attached to the wall and a decent sized industrial food service dishwasher.
Lined up in a row; he had all of his coffee machines, brew makers, and Keurig drip single serves with coffee grounds and beans in an assembly line of some sorts, ready to test and trial their upcoming invention.
He walked over to the coffee cups that were placed upside down and looked at the different numbered pieces of paper that he could only guess had Jin's handwriting on it.
"What is all this for, cupcake?" Joon was in awe at the set-up.
"Well, we have to get started sooner rather than later, right? Especially since I have all the ingredients we need."
He picked up a clipboard and showed Joon all the different options of brews with different cocoa beans and grains they would be using. A couple of experiments were already scratched off as failures.
Joon smiled as he looked up at Jin in admiration, looks like his crush had been working tirelessly since their meeting with Yoongi hyung. Although he had a little hiccup, or shall we say break, in between? *wink, wink*. Still, he had gotten so much done in such a short period of time.
"Okay then Mr. Expert! What do we do first?"
Jin grabbed a clear glass that was hanging in a rack overhead and started adding ice cubes in it.
