7 years later

"OMG! I am soooo late,...and sooo dead!"

He hurriedly grabbed his keys out of the empty fishbowl he kept by the door and slid across the kitchen floor to grab his wallet. Putting the dangling keys in his mouth, he ran to his backpack, grabbed his phone, and rushed out the door.

"Late again today Jimin I see? You didn't even get your morning run in," the neighborhood security guard said as he rushed to help open the trunk. Jimin nodded silently as he just dumped everything in the big empty space, not bothering to organize it.

"Aren't I always?" he chuckled while hopping in the driver's seat. He rolled down the window to tell Hoseok hyung thank you for helping him and drove his way out of the gated community. He could see the kind bodyguard wave at him through the review mirror, but not before seeing him shake his head in disbelief.

Jimin has been living here for about 3 months. He found the beautiful 2 story house by accident, or maybe just pure luck. But either way, he was grateful to the realtor he ran into for renting him such a beautiful home.

Jimin was on his way to work. They had a meeting on the new advertising ad that was going go up in Myeong-dong. It was the first time their small company was picked for such a huge opportunity. He couldn't wait to get started on it.

While daydreaming about possibly even getting promoted, he barely registered the cars that were honking at him to go. The light was green, but there was a broke down Jeep stalled in the middle of the intersection with smoke coming out it. It was causing traffic and angry morning commuters to scream and shout while continuing to honk or dangerously pass on the shoulder.

Since other vehicles started moving to go around, Jimin decided to do so also. He could barely see around the Jeep in front of him because of a blind spot, so he had no idea that the light had already changed and a fast expensive Kia Picanto was heading his way.

The yellow truck that was behind him angrily beeped, but he also couldn't see around the broke down Jeep. He had paints, confetti, feathers, straw, signs, all in the bed of his truck, and not one bit of it was strapped down.

There was no red flag to warn other drivers of the oversized load. Nothing to inform them that something dangerous could be sticking out. Because it overhung the boundaries of a normal-sized vehicle, there should have been rope or proper straps to securely tie the loose clutter down. He tried to cut Jimin off causing all 3 vehicles to slam on their brakes.

It was like a slow-motion scene from a movie. It happened so fast but yet also as if time had stood still.

By the end of it, the yellow truck cursed at them, as if it was their fault, and kept on going. He just up and left, leaving all of his trash, debris, and junk in the middle of the road.

Getting out in a hurry to check on the damage, he didn't notice the angry male exit his expensive car in his expensive blue suit fuming with rage.

"What the fuck is wrong with you? Don't you know how to drive? They teach you about red light, green light and who has the right of way in like 1st grade, what are you, an idiot?"

Jimin was upset, who the hell does this guy think he is? No manners whatsoever, dropping all honorifics and cursing at him.

Finally looking up, Jimin sees a short male around his height covered in pink paint. His black hair was parted on the side, and his black shoes had feathers sticking out from the bottom of them.

His first instinct should have been to yell at him for being so rude and disrespectful. On the other hand, Park Jimin was normally nice and very polite and probably would have apologized whether it was his fault or not. But instead of trying to explain his side of the story on what happened, he just started busting out laughing instead.

The stranger grabbed his arm to try to get his attention, to shut him up, to tell him that this was serious, no laughing matter, but that just made Jimin laugh even more.

"Tell me, why didn't you keep your stuff more secured or strapped down, look what you've done to me."

"It wasn't me, it was the yellow truck," he said pointing into the direction of the fleeting vehicle. He was trying so hard to calm himself down. "I'm sorry but how did that even happen to you?"

The irritated male pointed to the top of his car showing he had the sunroof opened. That just made Jimin laugh all over again.

"Oh, you think this is funny, right?"
Jimin nodded his head yes but then immediately pressed his lips together tightly and shook his head no as a death glare was coming off the unrecognizable person covered in color.

"What are you going to do about my suit, huh? It cost over $2,000?"

"Why are you so mad at me?" Jimin started to laugh again. "Look how innocent and cute you look."

The other male smiled as he sneakily grabbed one of the cans of paint off the ground. "Oh- cute you say, really cute? Okay, okay then let's be cute together!" Then he proceeded to pour the rest of the pink paint over Jimin's head.

"Wow! Look at that! Now you're REALLY cute too!" His smile faded as he threw the empty can down with the rest of the rubbish that was laying in the middle of the street.

Bystanders were either laughing, looking on in shock, or angrily honking for them to move.

He walked casually over to Jimin, ever so slowly bent down and whispered in his ear, "Oh! And you're going to be buying me a new suit....... CUTIE!"
He winked and then nonchalantly walked back to his car as if nothing happened, as if he didn't just threaten the one and only Park Jimin.

"Excuse me? Who do you think you're talking to? I don't owe you shit!" Jimin was now fuming. Screw manners and honorifics, he hated it when people used their wealth and status to look down on others.

"Excuse me! Is there a problem here?"

"Yes officer!"

"No officer!"

They both stood there glaring at one another.

"I suggest both of you get a move on before I write you a ticket for obstruction. I know it wasn't you who made the mess, we caught the person responsible a couple blocks ahead when more stuff flew out of his truck. But you are blocking traffic and causing a scene."

"Yes sir," they both mumbled under their breath as they gave each other one last ugly look. Jimin stuck his tongue out at the asshole, who then proceeded to give him the middle finger in return. Luckily the officer had his back to them and didn't see their childish behavior.

"So much for that promotion" Jimin muttered as he was now sure he was definitely not getting the position, but probably most likely getting fired.

"Fuck, I'm REALLY LATE!" He banged on the steering wheel only for him to hit the horn. All eyes and heads turned in his direction while he sat there through another red light waiting for his turn to go.

"Fuck, doesn't this light ever turn green! Shit!" And he hit the horn once again.

"Being Late"

"Something Dangerous is Beginning,
And I'm Starting to Become Late to My Own Self.

I Forgot Under Which Clock I am Waiting for, Once Again Time Doesn't Stop, Sometimes I Just Wish it Didn't Exist or Even Start.

I am Now Officially Late with an Appointment with Myself,
There is No One There, Nothing Left,
I Hear One Lonely Tik Tok of a Clock,
I See One Lonely Flicker of Light.

But Just Like the Clock that Stands Alone on the Wall,
The Lonely Candle Lit in The Darkness is Also Illuminating,
Nothing but Sorrow and Sadness.
And Like Most Candles, All Flames Must be Blown Out,

And My Time is on the Bridge of Smoke, a Non-existent Light,
Which is Now a Slowly Dying Out Spark in My Poor Slow Beating Heart,
And Even Worse, Soul
