6. Eve's

It was New Year's Eve

The whole place was snowing , but it had that bright atmosphere of anticipation for the new year that was to come

And tonight seemed extra special as couples held hands walking to and fro

It seemed like all the couples in town decided to hang around

Everyone with a smile except one sitting on a bench with a stoic face so emotionless one would think he was statue

As he watched people pass him by , he smiled weakly as he reluctantly thought about how recently he was rejected and now lonely as a result

Couples laughed , some even kissed in pure love that made him feel extremely sad

And then just as the wind passed , he shivered as two snowflakes intertwined softly landed on the bridge of his nose

Almost as if nature had mocked him , a sad smile stayed on his face as he stood up and walked away

His back seemingly more lonely than one could imagine.
