"Okay, so now, this is a book of your best individual and collective moments at the club." Andrea smiles. "Of course, there is more pages for Caro, Lieke, Ana and Asisat since you've been here for quite some time now. But Julie, yours is pretty filled up too, considering our two past years. Frido and Ingrid, we managed to put good things up thanks to our trophies this year and mainly the Champions games at the Camp Nou. We'll hope you'll enjoy that."
We all take our memories book and begin to look through it. All the pictures are really cute, and it brings back the best memories we had with the girls. All of them have put nice words under the pictures and even former player like Vicky or Laia have written things.
I smile widely seeing a picture of Jenni and I on my first game day. I was so nervous that day and I replaced her during the second half. The picture shows her hugging me before I come in and I still remember what she told me. "This is the start of your most incredible journey, hermanita. Give it all you have." She has written it under the picture which is awesome.
Then, I see an edited picture from a fan that I recognized immediately. There is a first picture on the left with Patri and Aitana wearing their Spanish shirts looking defeated after they lost against us in the U19 Euro Final in 2016 and you can see me celebrating in the background. Then, in the middle, there is a picture of me walking with clutches during the U20 World Cup semi-final in France, with Patri and Aitana celebrating in the back. And on the right, there is a picture of Patri, Aitana and I jumping around and celebrating the Champions win last year. The caption being "Does it ever drive you crazy, just how fast the night changes?", it makes me tear up a bit.
Our rivalry with Spain in the Youth Team has been crazy and I've played against Aitana and Patri more than once. It was always hard but fun. We've had our fair share of joy and deception, but now, we are the best of mates.
The last picture I stop in front of is one of Ana, Alexia, and I during the game against Madrid at the Camp Nou. We are jumping all together with big smiles on our faces, singing some Barca songs. Alexia has written underneath it "To the only Catalan words you'll ever remember."
"Could she be more right?" Ana laughs over my shoulder.
"I don't think so..." I roll my eyes but end up laughing to. "I love this so much."
"Best memories with the best people." Ana winks at me and I exit the locker room with some other girls.
As I'm walking back to the parking lot with Alexia, Jenni, and Ana, I feel like I need to speak to Alexia, alone. We slow down a bit letting Ana and Jenni discussing whatever they were talking about.
"Gracias por el discurso y el libro. Espero que sepas cuánto significas para mí y cuánto te quiero." (Thank you for the speech and the book. I hope you know how much it means to me and how much I love you.) I tell her using Spanish to make her happy.
"Lo sé. Nunca lo dudé. Y deja de asustarte, tu español es bastante bueno." (I know. Never doubted it. And stop being scared, your Spanish is pretty good.) She puts her arm around my shoulders, and we walk to her car.
That afternoon is calm, and I take time to rest before my night out with Mapi.
