A/N: It's a double update so make sure you read chapter 16 before this.

Sexual content ahead so if you don't like such, feel free to stop reading after seeing the Loving Her banner. I most likely won't give such warnings again so don't expect it in the next mature chapter, the book was rated mature for a reason.

The night was almost over and Adrian was yet to pop the question, I was starting to believe that he wasn't going to and it was all in my head. The food of the restaurant was amazing and Adrian and I were too engrossed in the food to actually make any small talk.

When he was done eating he wiped his mouth and tossed the napkin to the table then he chuckled. I looked up from my food, almost done eating. I swallowed the food in my mouth.

"What is it?" I asked and licked my lips.

"Nothing, I just realized that we haven't said a word to each other since we started eating." He chuckled again and I rolled my eyes.

"Allow me to finish my food first," I laughed and went back to eating.

He watched me finish my food before he said another word. Through dessert we made small talk and when we were done Adrian paid the bill and we both walked out of the restaurant.

"So where to now?" I asked as we both got into the car and he started driving.

"You'll see." He smirked.

It turned out that it was a live classical music concert and I did have fun. It was my first time attending such and I got to marvel at the beauty of a classical music arrangement; the instruments, the conductor, their dressing and mostly the music, the definition of amazing.

We are back on the road leading to the hotel and I believe that our night is over. "Andrew and Victoria landed in Chicago this night." I say to break the silence.

He nods. "I guess it's going to be a busy next two months."

I chuckle, "but it's going to be worth it."

"Yeah, I'm so happy for them, after everything they're finally settling down together." He drops one hand to the center console and my hand itches to touch his.

"I know right?" The memories of what had happened to the couple the past two years comes back to me and I feel my eyes getting watery. It hurt me to sit back and just watch it all happen, not able to do so much about it. "And it's so nice that they're coming back to the place it all started."

Adrian reaches for my hand in my lap and inner me does a happy dance. His hand is warm against mine and I interlock our fingers.

"Everyone deserves a happy ending." He brings my hand to his lips and presses a kiss to the back of it.

I feel the butterflies in my stomach wake up and warmth fills my body. His words and his action making my heart flutter. My thoughts of thinking that Adrian was going to propose tonight comes to mind and I laugh at myself.

Adrian looks at me and back at the road. "What is so funny?"

I can't believe that I actually thought that way. Adrian just wanted to have a fun night with the love of his life, what was I thinking, dreaming that he was going to propose? To think that I was almost having a panic attack and phoned my best friend because of it.

"So when we got to the restaurant, I actually thought that you were going to propose tonight." I manage to say through fits of laughter.

Adrian's eyes dart back and forth between me and the road. The corner of his lips tug up gently; he's trying not to smile but failing miserably at it. "Okay, why do you think it's funny?"
