TEARDROPS OF TOMORROW

Chapter Ten

Nakarating kami sa aming lugar. Nicholai said that he just drive Jasmin, Clark and Rod home at agad na bumalik sa school para kunin ako. I actually thought that he forgot about me. He never even bothered saying goodbye. 'Yun pala, he planned on coming back to get me.

Is it okey to assume that Nicholai likes me? 'Cause I really feel like it.

HINDI KO NA-REALIZE na malapit na kaming makatapos ng first year highschool. Our days passed so fast. Nicholai and I became friends. He sometimes invites us on their church with my sisters. Mabuti nalang and mom lets us. Kasi si Jasmin rin ay doon nagsisimba.

Mom bought a second hand camera from her friend for a very cheap amount. I take the camera with me when Nicholai invited us again to their church. It's actually halloween today and they're celebrating it. I wore a blue shirt and fitted jeans which I know doesn't suits me at all but these are the only one that I can get. Besides, they just invited us this evening so I haven't got the chance to prepare a proper clothes.

My sister Francisca wore a dress and a sandal on. Mabuti pa 'tong batang 'to. I'm not really into dresses. I'm more on oversized shirts, high waisted shorts and ripped jeans.

But I think it's inappropriate to wear shorts in church so I guess this is better.

Tumungo kami sa tricycle nina Nicholai. Mae, Princess, Jasmin, Jacob, and Nicholai were already there. Nicholai was wearing black shirt and jeans, Jasmin was wearing jeans and black shirt as well, while Mae was wearing dress and so was Princess, her younger sister.

"Gosh! Sobrang saya ko kasi pinayagan kayo ulit." exited na ani ni Jasmin. I just smile. Jasmin motion me to sit in front, then she sat besides me while the others are on the back. A guy wearing a jacket that looks familiar but I don't know the name sat on the sidewheel.

I just smile. I'm also excited. "wala na kayong nakalimutan?" tanong ni Nicholai sa amin. Nagdala lang ako ng camera at pera sa bulsa at meron na ako ng ito kaya wala akong nakalimutan at mukhang ganoon din ang iba. Nicholai hop in and starts the tricycle. I can't help but to sniff his natural smell. Gosh, how come he smells good even though it's always hot?

Pinatakbo na ni Nicholai ay tricycle and then after 20minutes, we arrived at their Church. Did I told you that they're LDS? Or sort. I actually don't know what their church called, but everyone used to say "Mormons" which I don't think the right term is.

The kids immediately run inside. There are different drinks; powder juice, soft drinks, milk, buko juice and c2 and it's all for free. There are also foods like; spaghetti, lasagna, cookies, and burger.

"Kumain mo na kayo brother." ani ni sister Jane. Hinila ako ni Jasmin kaso nagmatigas ako. Besides, tapos na akong kumain tsaka nakakahiya kaya. Libreng sakay tas may pa free foods pa? Thank you nalang Lord pero ayoko pong magpakapal ng mukha.

"Tara na. 'Wag kang mahiya."

"Ayoko Jas, kayo nalang. Promise I'm fine here." umiling siya pero agad ring sumuko. "Fine, but I'll be back in a minute." tumango lang ako. Umalis na si Jasmin at naiwan akong mag isa. I took the camera and open it to take a photo of everyone. I saw Francisca enjoying games with the other kids. While Nicholai is nowhere to be found. He might be doing something important.

I sigh and just tried to enjoy.

"Mic test. Hello! Sisters and brothers! Good evening sa inyong lahat. I would like to thank you all for coming tonight to celebrate Halloween. For tonight, we'll be doing something fun. We'll be playing some games called 'trip to Jerusalem', 'Stop dance', 'Give me what I want', and more! But first, let's enjoy our sisters dance performance! Let's give them a round of applause."
