*Flashfoward to december 2021*
It had been over two months since Patrick had seen Ellen. They texted each other almost every night and talked on the phone once a week but it was not the same as seeing her. It was almost christmas now and this year, like many before, he really wished that he could spend it with her. But that simply wasn't an option and it killed him inside.
He had just posted a selfie on instagram and his heart had raced when he saw the notification he just got. Ellen Pompeo liked your photo. It made him think that maybe she missed him too. They usually tried not to interact with each others social medias too much, it pushed all the fan rumors about them and it caused Jill and Chris to get annoyed. So when he saw this notification he couldn't help but to send out a text. Thinking of you today. Miss you a lot El ❤️ And he hoped that it wasn't pushing their lines of friendship. Whenever they were apart like this they had an unspoken rule to keep their friendship casual and not sexual or loving, it was the best way to not miss each other too much but today he felt like breaking some rules.(The selfie he posted)
Ellen was sitting in her living room relaxed and rested. She had some days off filming and for once she didn't have any other obligations either. It was nice just sitting here with one of her favourite books in her hand. She had scrolled through instagram a little, she loved looking through things that fans tagged her in. It was entertaining to see what the fans made up sometimes, but also it was funny because some days the fan theorys were completely right aswell. She had seen that Parick had posted a selfie and even if she usually didn't interact with his posts she couldn't help herself this time. He looked so damn good and one like every now and then couldn't hurt anyone.
After reading her book for a bit she heard Stella walk up behind her. "Mom guess what." Ellen turned around to look at her daugther. "What sweetie?" She asked and saw Stellas very excided face. "My friends are going to the christmas carnival tonight, can i please go. Please please." Ellen could see how badly Stella wanted to go but she wasn't sure if she wanted to let her twelve year old out alone with her friends. She knew it could get crazy for her if fans recognized her. "I don't know sweetie..." she saw her daughters face fall a bit. "How about this, i'll go with Sienna and Eli and i stay out of your way and if you need me i'll be close by." And with that she saw Stella get all happy again. "Yes that's fine thank you so much mom, i'm gonna go get ready."
Ellen smiled at how excided her beatiful girl was and before she went back to read her book she thought she should text Chris and let him know. As she looked at her phone she saw that she had gotten a text from Patrick, this wasn't unusual but as she looked at the message her heart raced a bit. It seem liked he missed her as much as she missed him and as nice as it was to know it was also hard. She didn't like to think about him when they were apart and he knew this. Yet she understood why he sent it so she just wrote back. I miss you too Patty, I hope i get to see you soon❤️ After she sent it she deleted the conversation immediately, she always did so no one (Chris) would see. She layed down her phone and inhaled a deep breath, it was hard to think about Patty too much and she was going to have a great day today with her kids. She needed it. She actually wanted nothing more than to invite him to come with her as Chris was away and she knew Patrick was back in town for a few days, but it never ended well when they were in pubic together so she just pushed away those thoughts.
