Ellen was being interviewed by a third person already when she finally saw Patrick make his way to the carpet. She had already answered a few questions about him and she felt that she did well. But now it was hard to focus seeing him so close.
An interviewer had already captured him and she faught the urge to go over there right away as she tried to finish her interview being professional.
But as time went it was harder and harder for her as she noticed him looking over at her time and time again. So as soon as the interview was over she made her way to his side of the carpet. When she started to move she saw his eyes light up, in a way it reminded her of when they first met.*Flashback Late 2004*
It was time for the last guy of the day to audition. Ellen was happy it was the last guy because the day had been long and she didn't really feel a connection with any of the actors, and didn't expect this one to be any different.
As he walked in her eyes gravitated towards him though, he was a stunning man, she had to admit. He greeted Shonda and the rest of the crew and introduced himself as Patrick. His smile stood out right away to her. It was as if he had all that charm they descibed McDreamy to have. Lastly he went over to her as Shonda told him that this is Ellen, the leading actress. As soon as his eyes went to her she felt herself melt. The look he gave her and the charming smile was so different than when he greeted the others. It was hard to pinpoint what it was that made it so different but it was as if he was looking at her with an adoration.
"Hi i'm Patrick" he said and reached out his hand. "I'm Ellen, nice to meet you." She replied and as their hands touched she felt warm. It was a strange feeling but it felt like home somehow.
But she pushed the feeling away to him just being charming in that moment and the audition went on.*End of flashback*
"Excuse me" Patrick said to the interviewer and quickly leaned over to meet Ellen in a hug. He couldn't help himself. This was the first time they could be their old selfs in public and it felt like freedom somehow.
Ellen was speed talking like she always did when she was excided and nervous. He knew she didn't want to expose to much but also not be weird as they were tring to hide something. He was still holding her hand after the hug but he didn't want to make her uncomfortable either.
So he quickly decided to take control of the situation to calm her down. He took the mic from the poor interviewer who stepped back right away.
As he started to interview her she continued to laugh but he could also sense that she was starting to relax. She had put her arms around her and every fiber of him was on fire. He had missed her so much and didn't want to stop touching her. So as he turned around to interview her, he held her waist to make sure she was still close.
His move had worked and he could see that she was her normal self now. Flirting, but not too much, professional but not overly and finally just comfortable. It felt like he was just talking to his oldest friend. Which in many ways he was. Even if she was so much more, she would always be his best friend.Ellen was in heaven. She was so happy the man in front of her knew her better than anyone. She actually thought he knew her better than she knew herself.
He had sensed her nerves before she even did and made her feel so at ease with his so called interview.
She had missed this part without even realising it. The part where she had his support at big events. Where whenever she would be wrapped up in all the fakeness of the industry, he would make her feel like she was just hanging around her best friend, being her most true self. It felt like freedom in a way.
At the end of their interview he started to compliment her, in a way that made her heart melt. Just yesterday he had told her how much he loved her and how sexy she was and every other compliment there was. And he knew that she knew what he felt about her. But still he felt the need to tell her when the world was watching. Which made her smile so wide her cheeks hurt. He was something else and she loved him so much.Reluctently leaving the wonderful moment they had they both kept doing their job for a few more minutes. Answering questions and talking to different reporters. However when she looked at him again she saw him gesture for her to wait inside for him. So after she was done she stood just inside of the carpet. There was not a lot of people here as most of the people just passed here to go back to the area where friends and family waited, an area which she had no doubt both Jill and Chris were.
After a minute or two Patty finally joined her and before she could even open her mouth to greet him, she felt herself being pushed up against the wall in a dark corner and his lips where on hers.
It was electric and so much built up passion exploding, both sexual and sensual, into that kiss. Tongues soon dancing together and fighting for dominance. A battle Patrick won as Ellen melted into him. Not until they heard the door open did they part. They watched as someone passed them, not even noticing them and then they locked eyes again.
"Gosh I wanted to do that all day." Patrick said looking at her lush lips as Ellie was trying to calm her breathing.
"Me too. I am so happy you did that, i don't know if i would have made it through tonight otherwise." She laughed and he quickly joined her.
Then Ellen kissed him again, gently this time. It was short and sweet. Kind of like a habit
"We should probably make our way back now" she said looking at him with so much love that Patrick thought he might explode. He knew she was right but the look in her eyes made him want to push her back up against the wall and stay like that for hours.
"Yeah lets go." He forced himself to say and grabbed her hand. Not letting go of it until they entered the next room filled with family.*
Patrick was on his way home with Jillian who seemed to keep up her good mood. She hadn't been present for the carpet and knew it could change after the interview dropped but for now he didn't worry. Today had been perfect and now they were going home to freshen up and get Darby and Sullivan, later they were going to go to Ellens house. Even if the night was going to come with challenges, he knew that. He was still going to see his Ellie again. So he was going to enjoy every minute of this day.*
Ellen stepped out of the shower an hour after they left the award show and she still couldn't wipe the smile away from her mouth. Not only had today been perfect with Patrick but when they had met Jill, Chris and Stella after the carpet everyone was actually friendly. She could see that Jill was in good spirit and her smile towards her seemed genuine for the first time in months.
A part of her was upset with herself with lying so easily to all of them, knowing just minutes before she had made out with Patrick. But at the same time, she was in such a good mood that she pushed all that guilt aside as soon as it surfaced. After fixing her makeup again she went into her closet deciding what to wear. She knew this wasn't a formal night. They had all decided to just hang out in the garden and eat burgers as it was very warm for a september evening. So she didn't want to overdress, but at the same time she wanted to feel beautiful.
She decided on a pair of high waisted dark jeans, that honestly really showcased her ass in the best way. She paired it with a off shoulder, tight, black shirt. It hugged all her curves and made her breasts pop. But at the same time it wasn't over the top.
She let her hair down now and decided to go for some natrual waves and she draped it over one shoulder. She made her way downstairs where Marina was setting the table outside and getting everything ready. "You are an angel you know that?" She said as she approached her assistant. One of the few people in her life that knew about her and Patrick. "Thank you so much for getting everything ready for tonight." I felt bad working her so hard today, it was originally her day off. "No worries Ellen. I know today was stressful enough so i'm happy i could make it easier for you." Marina smiled at her boss.
"If you need me to i can stay upstairs and take Eli when he starts to get tired." Ellen looked at her in surprise and was about to tell her there was no need but then her assistant added "You should enjoy tonight El. I know you missed him." The last part coming out as a whisper so no one inside heard, even if they were alone.
Ellen smiled and thanked her, knowing she was right. It would be so much better if she could take Eli tonight. Before Marina made her way inside she stopped at Ellens side and softly said "Oh and I saw a few pictures. You looked happy on that carpet" she winked at her and Ellen blushed a little. In just twenty minutes the Dempsey family would arrive so she made her way up the stairs to see if everyone was ready. As she walked her long staircase she kept that same smile she had all day. Tonight was going to be great she decided. She was going to end this night on a high.
Little did she know that in just a few hours. Their lives would never be the same...
