Chris Ivory had always felt insecure when it came to Patrick Dempsey. When Ellen first started to film Grey's he'd had a nagging feeling that Patrick wanted his girl and his jealousy grew stronger with every interview and behind the scenes clip he saw of them together. But as the years went on and Chris met Jillian it slowly began to fade. Patrick was married and his wife was awesome so he started to accept the friendship his wife shared with him. It had of course been a rollercoaster and at some points he was truly convinced that their friendship was over the line. But then the feeling faded again and everything was okay.

After Patrick left the show he suddenly felt jealous again. It was weird because finally he wouldn't have to watch Patrick kiss Ellen on screen anymore and he should have felt a million times better. Yet the depression his wife had at the time made him question what the hell happened with them and his arguments with El increased. However after Eli was born everything went back to normal and he had started to forget about Patrick.
Now after all this time they were best friends again. Sure they didn't hang out as much as when they worked together but it was enough for the agonizing feelings to return. And seeing Jillian be insecure aswell didn't help his jealousy at all. But he had learned over the years that it was best not to argue with El over Patrick. It only pushed her away from him and he never had any proof that they were more than friends.

However earlier today when Patrick came over and they locked themselfs in her office he was convinced there was more to them than he knew. Chris couldn't explain it, it was just a feeling in his gut.
Patrick was such a smug guy and as much as he tried to be his friend Chris actually hated him. Seeing him interact with El he was sure that Patrick had feelings for her. Maybe they never cheated but he knew Patrick loved Ellen a little too much and it drove him nuts some days.

Later that night, as Ellen sat by the kitchen table with her whole family it dawned on her that Chris was acting rude and barely looking at her. She hadn't really noticed earlier because honestly her mind was still thinking about Patrick and the amazing orgasms he gave her earlier. But now looking at her husband across the table Ellen worried that he might have heard a lot more than he'd let on earlier.
"Mom what did Patrick want earlier? Is he coming back to work with you on greys?" Stella said out of the blew and Ellen didn't know how to answer the question. What was she suppose to say? She knew Patty had made up some bullshit excuse to be able to see her earlier but there was no plans what so ever for him to get back to Grey's.
"I don't know honey, maybe. But if he does it's only for one episode. Krista had some ideas and we talked it through earlier, that's why he was here." She told her daughter after she gathered her mind. There was no worse feeling in the world than lying to her kids but it was a necessity. Stella sounded happy with the answer and quickly changed the subject and started to talk to her baby sister. However Ellen avoided looking at Chris because she could feel his anger devouring the whole room.

As soon as the kids left the dinner table, Ellen got up to clear the table. She knew that she only had a few moments of peace before shit would hit the fan, she felt it in her soul.
"So was it good?" She heard Chris say with bitterness in his voice. El swallowed hard before turning around to face him. "What are you talking about?" Sha answered him trying to sound as calm as possible. "The sex with Patrick, was it good?" Chris was getting more and more angry with each word and Ellen was really worried it wasn't just him being suspicious this time but that he actually heard them. Nevertheless she was not admitting it before she knew more.
"What the fuck Chris? Why are you starting this up again? I thought we got over this a long time ago? I am not sleeping with Patty!" Ellen tried her best not to scream the words and sound too guilty.

Chris knew he shouldn't accuse her of this again but he couldn't stop himself. Hearing his own daughter ask about Patrick, seeing his own kids adore him, just made his so mad! He needed to get his emotions out and he also wanted to see her reaction because maybe he wasn't entirely wrong. Although he hoped he was.
"Come on El you really expect me to believe he was here to talk about work? You must think i'm an idiot!" As he spoke he could see his wife get more annoyed but he couldn't tell if it was because he was out of line or if it was because he was right on point.
"You know I don't need this today. You always do this Chris. I thought we were all in a good place after the dinner at their house. This has nothing to do with Patrick and everything to do with you right now." Ellen told him and started to walk away. "Yeah that's right walk away Ellen. You don't even care enough to fight anymore!" Chris yelled after her as he watched her go upstairs.
Truth be told Chris wasn't sure if he was more upset with Ellen or himself for starting this. He knew it would push her buttons but at the same time he wanted her to care more and it pissed him off that her friendship with Patrick always came first.

As Ellen headed upstairs she felt incredibly guilty. She knew she'd become a master of manipulating Chris and it was so fucking wrong. However she couldn't stop her relationship with Patrick now. After all those years without him she finally had him back in her life and it was the time for her to be a little selfish. Living without him again just wasn't an option.
She threw herself on the bed and buried her head in her pillow. The last words that came from Chris mouth echoed in her mind as it reminded her of the worst day ever. You don't even care enough to fight.

Patrick knew the minute he stepped inside his front door that Jillian would be mad. He was suppose to be home hours ago but instead he had fucked Ellen in her office. 'Why was he so stupid?'
As much as he wanted to hate himself for the things he had done today he also felt like he'd won today. It wasn't so much about the sex, even though that was incredible. It was about the fact that he finally had his Ellie back for real. She wasn't running and she wasn't going to hurt him again. However complicated their lives were right now, he knew that his life was better when El was in it. Which meant he couldn't hate himself even if he knew he was being selfish.
"Where the hell have you been?! You were suppose to help me with the PR video for my products today!" Jill screamed as soon as he entered the living room. Pat had completely forgotten about his promise to help her with her buisness today. Crap.
"Hello to you too Jill" He answered her calmly trying to put on some charm but it didnt seem to work.

Jillian was pissed. She knew before Patrick left this morning that his hike was with Ellen. She didn't care enough to fight about it at first because she knew it was just something they did and after the drama she had started at the dinner a few days ago she wasn't surprised when he didn't tell her. She might hate her husbands friendship with Ellen some days but she also knew that it was hard for him when she faught with him over her. So she had decided to let it go, the fact that he didn't tell her about the hike.
However that was before he'd been away for over five fucking hours. And to top it off he'd obviously forgotten that she needed his help today. Ellen had yet again been more important than her and she wondered what the hell they'd been up to today.
"Don't fucking Hello me Pat! You've been gone for hours so what's your excuse this time?" She knew he always had some bullshit story ready so she just waited for him to lie.

Patrick however decided that being "truthful" was probably the best idea today so he simply told Jill "I was at Ellens house, sorry i completely spaced about the PR. Let me go freshen up and we'll do it now." And with that he tried to give Jill a sweet smile. However he could see that she was more pissed now.
"What the fuck Patrick! You were at Ellens doing what exactly? Is she so much more important than me?!" She screamed at him and he realised that he didn't explain himself enough.
"For god sake Jill no. If you'd ask like a normal person you'd know that Krista called me about a cameo and I talked it over with El. Chris was home too so you can confirm it with him since you obviously don't trust me with anything that has to do with El." After he said this he could see Jill calm down a bit and he really hoped she wouldn't check in with Chris because he was unsure of what he'd say. "I'm going to go freshen up and i'll help you when i get down if you still want me to." He spoke again and just left before she could respond. But he could still hear her mutter out some words before he was out of the room.
"What i want doesn't matter anyways." Jillian spoke quietly because she knew that no matter what she did Ellen would always come first.

Before going into the shower Patrick texted Ellen. As much as he needed to focus on Jillian he wanted El to know he still thought of her. And she needed to know that he lied to Chris about Grey's aswell.

As he felt the warm water hit his skin and wash away the smell of Ellie from his body he couldn't stop thinking about when he left grey's. Jillians words wandered threw his mind as he remembered them coming out of El's mouth during the most difficult time of his life. What I want doesn't matter.
