AN: this will be a trilogy of chapters all named the same and telling the story of the same night but from three different views. This first one is from the views of Ellen and Patrick.
Because of this they are a bit shorter. And will be uploaded with a few hours in between them to not keep you waiting too long.

"I want an answer right now!! Are you in love with Ellen?!" Jillian screamed at Patrick.
Ellens gaze was stuck to the floor as she wanted to sink into oblivion. Patrick was stunned and no words came out of his mouth. Everyone else in the room waiting for Patrick to answer. How did the night end like this?

*A few hours earlier*
After they all greeted each other, Ellen happily led Jill and Patrick to the terrace. Chris was at the grill and he waved and said hello as they sat down.
Darby and Sullivan had already been sucked into a house tour by Sienna and had tagged along politely followed by Stella.
"What do both want to drink? Wine, beer?" Ellen asked as she tried to focus her gaze on Jillian. She didn't want to get lost into Patricks eyes and start this evening off on the wrong foot.
"I'll have some white wine if you have." Jill said as politely as she'd ever heard her before. "I'll take the same Ellie." Patty chimed in and when Ellen turned to look at him he had a grin on his face. He knew she was trying not to focus on him and he couldn't help but to tease her silently about it. As Ellen walked away to get the wine she rolled her eyes. He was such a child sometimes yet, weirdly, it made her love him more.

After dinner the kids started to play soccer. Sienna and Darby versus Stella and Sullivan. Patrick couldn't help but to smile at the sight. It was weird how their families just seemed to blend so well. At the same time he felt a little guilty because while watching his kids play with Ellens, he wished Jill and Chris wasn't here.
He looked over to his right and saw Ellen looking at him. They both knew in that moment that they were thinking the same thing. A small smile escaped Ellens mouth and he couldn't help but to smile back. In a strange way this evening was a glimps into what could be.

A few glasses of wine later and many laughs later, Ellen found herself alone with Jill. Patrick had gone to the bathroom and Chris had gone upstairs to check with Marina that Eli was not causing any trouble for her.
The kids were now inside hanging out and they seemed to be happy.
"I'm sorry Ellen." She heard Jill say and she looked at her stunned. "What for?" She replied taking a sip of wine.
"I'm sorry i've been so jealous and insecure lately. It's just that we haven't had the best few months me and Patrick and I guess it was easier to blame you than anything else."
Ellen was shocked and speechless. Jill had nothing to be sorry for, not really. Everything she had accused them of was true and she felt a knot form in her stomach right now. "You've always been nice to me and a great support for Patrick. So can we move forward?" Jill asked with a shy look on her face that Ellen had never seen from the woman before.
Right now Ellen had never felt smaller as a person. Jill was apologising to her when she was the one who was in love with her husband. But she knew now was not the time for a confession of guilt either so she forced a smile "Of course Jill. Consider the past in the past."
She saw a smile on Jills face as she thanked her and leaned back. Just when she was about to say something else, anything to change this subject. Jill excused herself as her phone rang and Ellen breathed out a breath she didn't even know she was holding.

Patrick walked past his wife who was on the phone and made his way out to the terrace again. He smiled when he saw that Ellen was alone but as he made his way closer the look on her face made his heart sink a little.
"Ellie, whats wrong?" He asked and she looked at him with sad eyes.
"Jillian just apologised to me. For accusing us of things, for being jealous, for everything. SHE said sorry to ME. And i'm the one in the wrong here and.. and i've never felt so small... oh my god Patrick whats wrong with us." He could tell she was panicing so he sank down in front of her and held her hands in his. Trying to stop her ranting, he squeezed her hands tight. "Shhh El calm down please. Don't panic baby. Breathe. Look at me." He started to try to calm her down and after a while her breathing seemed to slow down. "Baby i know we are all sorts of fucked up but please don't lay all of this on you. I was the one who started all of this years ago and I'm the one who should have just left her a long time ago. Please stop blaming yourself. I love you so damn much and I can't stand seeing you like this."
Ellen was starting to feel normal again. She still felt guilty but she knew things was more complicated than right or wrong at this point and hearing Patrick right now had some sort of calming effect on her.
"Thank you." She whispered. "And I love you so damn much too." Giving him a little smile.
"There's my girl." Patty said as he smiled back. "You look stunning tonight by the way." He continued on and her smile became bigger and he started to feel relived.
Soon they heard footsteps and he sat down in his own chair trying to seem normal.

Talulah was on her way... here... to Ellens house. Patrick was thinking about what that would mean as Jill continued to tell them about her. She'd had a fight with her boyfriend and was back in LA. She had appearently called Jillian and cried.
"... so i told her to come straight here. She sounded shocked when I said we were at your house Ellen but she said she'd be here soon. I thought maybe two women could help her calm down more than one." Jill said and smiled at Ellen.
"Of course, Tal is always welcome." Ellen smiled but as Patrick watched her he knew it was her acting smile. She was panicing again, and so was he now. He loved his daughter but they had not spoken since she walked in on him and Ellen. With Ellen wearing... well a broken dress. Talula, his princess, was upset and he wanted her to come so he could comfort her. But at the same time this was the worst place for her to be right now.
But Jill had told her to come and he couldn't argue with that. So he just hoped she would ignore the situation for tonight.

However that was a wish that unfortunately never came through

"ANSWER ME PATRICK!!" Jillian yelled again.
"Yes I'm in love with her." Patrick softly spoke and the room went silent. So silent that you could've heard a hairpin drop.
Ellen looked up then. At Patrick. She didn't see anyone else in that moment. She was utterly shocked at his words.
