Dreams Come True

Keith woke up with a jolt, beads of sweat rolling down his face. Another one again tonight. Ever since coming to space and becoming a paladin, Keith has been having dreams. Specifically about Lance.

The dreams ranged from Christmas specials to attending regular high school, to being attacked by Galra. They ranged in the genre as well: nightmares, fluffy dreams... wet dreams.

It was a wet dream last night, a high school cliche about opposites attracting. Keith was the "bad boy" of the school while Lance was a nerd. In the end, Keith got fucked by Lance so hard that his voice broke.

Did the others know about these dreams? Hell no! Keith wouldn't be able to face Lance every day if Lance knew the type of dreams he was having about him. But because Lance didn't know, Keith was able to sit next to Lance during breakfast this morning.

At first, Keith thought the dreams were warnings that they might happen in the future. But all of the normal high school dreams threw that prediction out the window. The wet dreams, as well.

Keith knew fully well that Lance had a major crush on Allura, meaning that his chances of getting Lance were zero. If anything, these dreams have been a blessing to Keith. Especially after Lance and Allura got together.

God, did that day sting. Keith can still remember the pain, a constant drop in his heart that seemed to be endless. But that night, he had one of the best dreams. Lance and him... they had a child.

Keith had to sacrifice his own life for the child to be born but was able to watch over both Lance and Lilly. Seeing Lance mourn his death, seeing that a child made by both of them was able to live happily, was enough for Keith.

Keith lived through the dreams, a bad idea to get attached to the dreams, but it was to help ease the pain of a broken heart. The real Lance would never do anything that the dream Lance would do, so why bother morning over something that Keith can get elsewhere?

Nights became a sanctuary for Keith, a beautiful time for Keith to cry, blush, or get a hard-on. He wasn't very picky on the type of dream, as long as there was one. But, recently, they've stopped. It's been a few months now since no dream visited him. Sometimes the dreams would come to a couple of months apart, but this one felt different.

Was that last high school smut dream the last one? No, that wasn't a real ending. That couldn't have been it, right? God, Keith longed for the dreams to come back. To feel Lance's hand on his cheek, to have Lance play with his hair, to pull his hair, to cut it all off, whatever the dream wanted to do was fine with Keith!

Just a snip, a small clip, a flash of a vision, anything.

Keith was sure the others could see that he wasn't alright. Not having the dreams to help cope with the loss of the love of his life has been taking its toll on Keith's fighting.

He would eat at a different time than everyone, train longer with Acxa than with Voltron, and when Voltron formed everyone could feel that the connection was wavering, but not enough to be a struggle to keep together.

Keith would deny anything being wrong when any of the paladins would come up to him. It wasn't enough to fool any of them, so the group got together while Keith trained with Acxa. They weren't very good at hiding it though. Keith had come to the meeting room, seeing if he could find Shiro to see if he wanted to train some more with him. He stopped short, though, when he heard his name be mentioned on the other side.

Keith stood at the side of the door, listening in. He heard everyone's voice, seeming to be genuinely concerned for him, but they couldn't be more wrong about what was wrong with him.

The topics were about Keith's mom, that maybe her leaving again was hurting him more than the others thought. But while that wasn't right, it did give Keith an idea. It didn't take long to get ahold of his mother, and when she heard that her son needed to talk, she wasted no time in scheduling a visit.
