(Language, angst)

The sunset was always beautiful from this hill. Lance could feel the warmth of the sun emanating from over the horizon. It was as real as Keith's head on his shoulder. Lance's therapy was supposed to be starting now, but he's fine with being late. Lance just wanted to spend as much time with Keith as he could, because the moment the takes his medication, Keith wont be here anymore.

"You need to get back inside, Lance," Shiro called from the porch.

Lance sighed. Shiro was Lance's doctor, the one that makes Keith disappear. Keith shifted beside Lance and wrapped his arms around him. For some reason, Shiro can't see Keith. If Keith wasn't real, then Lance would be able to see through him, but he can touch him. He can feel him, kiss him, talk to him, why can't anyone else do that with him?

"All you have to do is pretend that I'm not here, Lance. You could get out of here, you could find someone that people can see," Keith said.

Lance wrapped an arm around Keith's shoulders and kissed his head, "Keith, I'm never going to do that. I can't just pretend that the person I've loved for my whole life disappeared. I don't care if I'm in here for the rest of my life, I'm not leaving you."

Keith was crying, but his tears never stained Lance's shirt. Lance stood up and offered a hand down to Keith. Keith smiled and wiped his tears away while taking Lance's hand. Together they walked hand and hand into the mental institution where Lance was currently staying.

For Lance, he's never felt what a real home feels like. Once sixth grade started and Keith was still there, Lance's parent went to professionals. They said that it wasn't uncommon for an imaginary friend to stay this long and that they should only start to worry if the friend starts to mess with his studies or getting new friends.

None of that ever happened, and once high school started Lance stopped talking about Keith to his parents. They thought that Keith was gone until they asked Lance about Keith. All Lance said was that Keith was his boyfriend, you'd think that would be fine. But instead, he ended up here.

But that didn't matter anymore. Lance was fine staying here. Who would want to go back home after their parents sent them away for being gay? Lance squeezed Keith's hand tighter and Keith did the same. If Keith really was fake, then how come Lance could hold his hand?

"Alright, Mr. McClain, how's your day been?" Shiro asked.

They were back in Lance's room, sitting at a table for two. Keith was pulled onto Lance's lap and Keith giggled. How could no one hear that laugh? Lance put his arms around Keith and rested his head on Keith's shoulder.

"It was fine until you made us come inside," Lance said, pulling Keith as close to him as possible.

"Lance, you know that you're only allowed to be outside for two hours a day."

Lance rolled his eyes and brought one of his hands to play with Keith's hair. How could hair this soft not be felt? Keith hummed and leaned back onto Lance. Lance couldn't help but smiled at his boyfriend, he's to adorable.

Shiro sighed, "Lance you do know that no one is there right?"

Lance narrowed his eyes, don't say it.

"Keith's not real."

He said it.

Lance slammed a hand onto the table and stood up, causing Keith to fall to the floor. This wasn't the first time this has happened. But Lance always got angry when Shiro said that.

"Keith is real! He's real and I love him. Why can't you see him? Why?!"

Keith stood up and grabbed Lance's arm, "Lance you need to calm down."
