"What do you mean, 'the world is about to end'!?"

The news continued to play, the broadcaster reporting the oh-so-exciting story of the world about to end. The woman was crying on the television, stuttering between her words and trying to get everything out. By the end of it all, Lance only understood the picture in the top hand corner. According to the news, a large meteor would hit the earth in 24 hours.

Lance began to gather his things and drove to his family home. As he drove, Lance noticed how neighbors were talking to one another. The road was packed a bit more than usual. Was the world really going to end?

After 20 minutes of driving, normally only a ten-minute drive, Lance arrived at his parent's house. As soon as he pulled in Lance's family ran out to hug him. They all stood in a group hug dumbfounded that this was really happening. When Veronica checked the news again, she found that a countdown had begun, reading that they had 23 hours left before the end.

"Mijo, I love you with all of my heart, which is why I'm telling you this now. You're in love! As a mother, I can tell. Go get him and bring him back here. You said he lives alone, which means for all of this he doesn't have anyone. And with Shiro being on the other side of the Earth for work, I'm taking him in. But I swear to Lord if you come back here and that boy isn't yours!" Lance's mother raised her hands and smacked them in the air, showing that Lance would be in a lot of pain if this was not done.

Lance stood there for a moment, trying to wrap up everything that was said in his head. Who just says that with no context? But it got Lance thinking. Does he like Keith? Keith, of all people?! No way, his mother was wrong, he only likes Keith as a friend, if that. No, that's a lie, they were really good friends. They told each other so many things that the others had no clue about. The fact that Keith knows that Lance is bisexual is proof enough. But what about Keith? Does he like him back? It could ruin their friendship if he doesn't. But then again, the world is about to end. But he doesn't want to leave their relationship in the dust because of his feelings, which he doesn't have!!!

So why was he thinking about this so much? If he doesn't have feelings for him then there's no point. Like he said his mother was wrong. But now that he thinks about it, how many times has Veronica come home with a friend that obviously liked her and it took their mother to tell her that she liked, most of them, back? His mother was right about one thing though. Shiro had gone off to Japan a while ago to teach there, which leaves Keith alone.

Lance sighed, "I'm still figuring out the whole feelings thing, but I'll bring him over."

Before his mother could protest Lance hopped back into his car and began the 20-minute drive, turned into a 30-minute drive, to Keith's home.

Keith sighed as he watched the clock on the T.V. tick down. He had just gotten off the phone with Shiro. Apparently, all flights are booked up, and most of them are getting canceled, so the hope of seeing one another one last time in person was out of the question. They agreed that it would be harder for them to stay on the line through the whole thing, and said their goodbyes early.

Kosmo sat on the couch next to Keith, tilting his head and licking Keith's hand every so often. The ravenette scratched his dog's head with a sad smile. A knock on the door surprised both of them, causing Kosmo to bark for a bit before being hushed by his owner.

Keith walked over to the door and looked through the window next to it, finding that an awkward-looking Lance was rocking back and forth on his feet. Keith opened the door with a tilted head, about to ask him the general 'what are you doing here' but was stopped by Lance's premade answer.
