It was the next day and I was making lunch when Rouge arrived with her clothes.
"Hon! I'm here! And I got my clothes!" Rouge called through the door.
"Shadow will you get that?" I called out to the ebony hedgehog.
"Yeah." Shadow answered from the couch before moving to open the door.
"What no Silver to greet me this time? How rude!" Rouge chastised
"You're lucky I even let you hold him!" Shadow snapped back.
"Now. Now. Play nice." I called over my shoulder as I finished up the sandwiches.
Rouge giggled. "Yeah. Play nice."
"You're lucky that you're my friend. I swear." Shadow groaned at the bat before walking back over to the couch and grabbing Silver who at seeing Rouge immediately smiled.
"Alright! All done. Who wants lunch?" I called from the kitchen as I set the table.
I watched as Shadow and Rouge both sat down on opposite ends and so I took my seat beside Shadow and grabbed Silver from him so that I could feed him aswell.
"So.. What's it like being first time parents?" Rouge asked with a gleam in her eyes as she picked up one of the sandwiches I had made.
"Stressful." Shadow immediately answered and then elaborated. "I love Silver but he just.. I'm always worried about him because he's so fragile."
I nodded. "Silver's stopped keeping me up at night for the most part but.. Well.. I'm honestly kinda nervous for when he becomes mobile.. I mean me and Shadow have baby proofed the house the best we could but.. Well.. I can't help but be nervous."
Rouge smiled and shook her head. "You two worry too much. I'm sure y'all will be fine and that Silver won't get into too much trouble."
Silver made that little "Ooo" noise again as if agreeing with Rouge and I giggled.
"See? Silver understands. You won't be a little troublemaker will you?" Rouge baby talked to Silver and he did that hand clasping thing with a big smile on his face.
"He's going to be a handful and a headache." Shadow groaned.
"Awwwe nonsense. Don't listen to your papa. He doesn't know what he's talking about." Rouge told Silver with a wink.
Shadow just snorted and I took this time to finish eating and then I picked up all of the plates and walked over to the dishes where Shadow joined me and I washed, He dried. Behind us Rouge countinued babbling to Silver. Telling him about her day and such.
I finished up and dried my hands before going and getting my sewing kit for it was time for me to mend some clothes.
"Alright Rouge. Show me the damage." I told the bat as I entered the living room.
Rouge just chuckled and then she gave me her work outfit. Which for the record looked exactly like her current outfit except this one was much more heavy duty and covered in stitches.
"Rouge. Mind if we sit in my room for this? I have my work table with a sewing machine in there and this is going to take some working on." I told the bat.
"Yeah. Sure." Rouge nodded and we went to my room.
It was only a couple minutes later and now I had the suit fully layed out on my work table and I was undoing all of the stitches so that I could properly sew it up when Rouge spoke.
"So.. You and Shadow?" She teased with a grin.
I nodded. "He's amazing."
"So I'm guessing it worked out then?" Rouge questioned.
"Yeah. Me and Shadow went on a date to the park. We saw Cream, Brought Silver, Ate Icecream. It was amazing Rouge. 10/10 experience." I explained with a goofy smile on my face.
Rouge nodded. "I'm glad your happy hon."
"Thanks Rouge." I told her.
We went silent after that until the suit was finished and then after I checked it over for any imperfections from my sewing machine I nodded and handed it to her.
"Here. Should be good now. Just please try to be more careful. This is some expensive stuff and I can't promise that my patches will stay." I explained.
"Are you kidding? This is almost as good as new! Oh Amy! Thankyou! It's so much better than what I did. I'll have to steal your skills more often!" Rouge cried.
"Oh.. It's really nothing. I'm not an expert or anything." I said with a blush of embarassment while chuckling.
"Amy Rose. Don't you dare sell yourself short, Hon." Rouge chastised me.
"I'm not. I really only sew on and off. It all depends on my mood." I told her honestly.
"Yeah, well. This is amazing anyways. You did good Amy. Just accept my praise." Rouge told me with a shine in her eyes.
I chuckled and hugged her. "Thanks for the praise Rouge. I appreciate it."
"No problem, Hon. Now how about we return to the living room? I want to cuddle Silver alittle bit before I have to leave." Rouge told me with a smile and I nodded.
Shadow was dead to the world when we came back. He was all laid out on the couch and he had Silver in his arms.
Silver immediately started making noises when we walked in and I smiled before walking over and picking him up from where he was laying on Shadow's chest.
"Hi Silver." I said still smiling.
Silver copied my smile and then went "Ah" causing me to chuckle.
"Awe! He''s just too adorable! Amy pass em over." Rouge squealed just a tad too loudly and I watched as Shadow's eyes flickered open.
"Rouge.. Too damn loud. I'm actually trying to sleep before work tonight." Shadow grumbled.
"Oh. Sorry Shadow." I said.
"Not your fault, Amy, Rouge was the one being unnessecarily loud." Shadow said with a pointed glare at said bat.
"Oh hush. It's not my fault that Silver's such a cutie!" Rouge practically purred.
Shadow just rolled his eyes before getting up and stretching.
I sighed because now I felt bad. Shadow really did have work tonight. He was currently after a murderer who's real name was unkown but was called W.O.L.F in his files because of how he always ripped out the throat to kill his prey. It was honestly kind of brutal.
"Anyways. Since were on the topic of work.. Shouldn't you be getting your uniform on and helping Jagger with the hunt for you know who?" Shadow said with a raised eyebrow to Rouge.
"Crap! I completely forgot! Alright. Seeyou sweety." She said kissing Silver before handing him to me and running out.
"I'm guessing it's time for you to go to work too?" I said looking at Shadow.
Shadow nodded and then we hugged and I watched as he chaos controlled away.
I really did hope that he was being careful out there.
