Birth

I was officially nine months pregnant. It was afternoon and I woke up to a fierce pain in my stomach.

"Shadow!" I shrieked.

The black and red hedgehog immediately appeared and noticing my pain he immediately walked over.

"Amy?" He questioned.

"Hospital. Now." I grunted.

"It's happening?" He said with wide eyes.

"It's happening." I panted and before I knew it Shadow had scooped me up in his arms and he was running at full speed.

Luckily the hospital was nearby and we got there right as the contractions really started to kick my ass.

I was in the ER now and I honestly have no idea how long I just laid in the hospital bed in pain before it started. My water broke and all I felt was pain.

Luckily it didn't last long and when my baby was placed in my arms I was.. I couldn't describe it but I just felt warm and melty. My baby..

Shadow came in shortly after and he paused when he saw me and the baby and that tiny smile was back as he drew closer.

"Want to hold him?" I asked the ebony hedgehog.

"Can I?" Shadow breathed while staring at my baby like he was the most special thing.

I nodded and shadow kneeled down beside my bed and held the baby for a moment. His face softening like I had never seen before. Which was when the baby opened his eyes and Shadow handed him back.

"What will you name him?" Shadow asked.

"Silver." I decided while looking at the downy soft silver colored fur of my son.

Shadow nodded. "Silver. I like it. It fits him."

I nodded back. It was basically Platinum's last wish after all I mean sure the guy was pure evil but he was still a person and I couldn't ignore that.

I sighed before stretching my legs alittle bit. I felt alittle like jello now and to be honest I was tired. Having a baby was hard.

It wasn't too long after that the doctors checked on Silver got his name from Shadow cut the umbilical cord and I fell asleep.

I woke up and the first thing I did was stretched which was when I remembered where I was and why I was there and that my baby was not in my arms.

I was about to freak out when I heard Shadow softly humming Baby Mine and I looked over to see him with Silver and I calmed down and even found myself smiling softly.

Which of course was when Shadow looked up and blushed fiercely before looking away awkwardly.

"Shadow. I like your humming. You don't have to be embarrassed." I said while keeping my soft smile.

"I know. It's just. It was the only way to keep him from crying." Shadow explained before handing him to me.

He looked away respectfully while Silver fed for a few moments and then I groaned. "Ugh.. No offense to the hospital but I miss home."

Shadow immediately chuckled. "Don't worry. It won't be long. Silver is perfectly healthy which is why they handed him back to me."

I nodded and then thank god the doctor finally walked in and told us that we were free to leave.

"Oh thank god." I moaned and then I got up and walked around a bit to get my footing and we left. Me, Shadow and Silver.

I was at home and I had just gotten my shower when I checked my texts.

Rouge: Hey, Hon! He's gone. Was executed yesterday at 5:30.

Amy Rose: Sorry for the late text but.. Are you fucking serious? He died at the same time I had Silver!

Rouge: Really?

Amy Rose: Yes!

Rouge: Wait! You had your baby!?

Amy Rose: Yes, I seriously hope that Platinum dying at the same time is just a coincidence.

Rouge: I'm sure it is. At any rate... Send a girl a picture! What does he look like!

Amy Rose: Seriously? Your not worried?

Rouge: No? Honestly Amy. Unless Silver seems to have past life visions or whatever I wouldn't worry about it.

Amy Rose: Alright. Also here is a picture of Silver. - Imagine a picture of Shadow holding a baby silver with a soft smile on his face as he gazes down at the baby boy with soft eyes. -

Amy Rose: There. Pleased?

Rouge: Oh! My! Mobius! Look at him! Squeeeee! He is the cutest!

Amy Rose: ^^

Rouge: Also awweee look at Shadow... If I didn't know better I'd think he was the true father.

Amy Rose: He is in my eyes.

Rouge: Squee! So! You like him?

Amy Rose: Tell him and I kill you. I don't want to make it awkward.

Rouge: Hon. He lives with you. As far as I'm concerned you two are already in a relationship.

Amy Rose: We have never even kissed!

Rouge: Don't have too to be in a relationship.

Amy Rose: I guess but.. Do you think he sees it the same way?

Rouge: Mmmm.. Mind if I come over tomorrow?

Amy Rose: Rouge you are not playing match maker!

Rouge: Too late :P

Amy Rose: You're the worst.

Rouge: Love you too hon. Seeyou and Shadow aswell as Silver tomorrow.

Amy Rose: Seeyou.

I groaned before signing off of my phone and then I went to go find Shadow to warn him about Rouge's visit.

"Hey Shadow. Rouge is coming over tomorrow." I told him when I found him. He was laying on the couch with Silver in his arms watching the news.

"Seriously?" He grunted.

"Yeah. I kind of told her about Silver." I admitted and he sighed.

"I know, I was hoping for a break too." I said with a yawn.

Which was precisely when Silver started fussing and I had to feed him.

"Alright. I'm bringing him to his cradle." I said before surprising myself by running my hand through Shadows head quills.

Shadow seemed to stiffen for a moment before relaxing and closing his eyes.

I blushed before walking back to my room and putting Silver in the cradle but not before feeding him one more time and going to bed.
