POV: Calamitous
Over 400,000,000 years ago
The day couldn't be any better as for the first time in five thousand years, a Starlight is born. It was an event that was, being celebrated by everyone and everywhere.
And Calamitous meant everywhere.
Heaven was deck out in every color under the rainbow. Traspies lined the shops and buildings. The tapestry had designs of animals, the Elements symbols, known Angels, wings of Angels, or just plain. The streets were littered with flowers, some of which didn't really fit with the Angel's 'reputation' like nightshade and water hemlock. The light yellow, pale blue, and pastel pink lanterns clouded the ever-changing sky.
*Note: Heaven's skies are whiteish-blue during the day and grayish-blue at night. They don't have clouds. The streets are similar to our streets and the same for the grass. The cities and buildings have a very similar setup as Heavens.*
The whole town was in celebration is what the red fading to white wing Angel was getting at.
However, something was eating him. Calamitous couldn't but feel uneasy about the fan fair. It's not that he didn't like having a little sister. She was adorable, and he fell in love the first time his mother brought her home from the hospital.
The young Angel was at work, or he would have been there.
The teenager wanted to show his sister everything he knew about Heaven and Earth. About how to fly, magic, and with luck, she will develop a love of learning like him.
The point is that Angel wanted to be a great big brother to her.
However, Calamitous had a knot in his stomach, and it was gnawing at him. The feeling wouldn't go away no matter what he did.
Not even his hobbies of watching the humans on Earth on the T.V., hanging out with his two friends, or reading a book. Nothing seemed to help, and after a week after her birth. The nervous feeling seemed to be growing as if preparing him for something.
Calamitous was stuck at work like always. The Angel didn't mind the work as he got to see how souls are sent out. The company was called Souls of Life, which is a fancy way of saying that they sort souls and give them to Earth for new life.
It's basically the opposite of a repeat.
However, there was one small detail about this job. It was considered a job for young nobles.
Calamitous let out a groan as his office started to feel a bit too big. There were other desks, but all his coworkers on this floor left for the celebration hours ago. There were rumors that they were taking off for the week.
Calamitous desk was no different from the others. It was reddish-brown with drawers, pencils, pens, and paper.
Lots and a lot of paper that needed to be sorted.
The system of sorting was simple enough. You look at the files of a certain soul and see if they should be reborn or not or even made new.
It was a very boring job, which only Calamitous took seriously.
It's a job for young nobles.
Which he was anything but a noble.
Calamitous came from a family that has no rank, meaning they were lower than dirt by some noble's opinions. However, just because they had no rank didn't mean they don't have a decent size house and the things they needed, along with a few things they didn't need but want.
The ranking was just a term to place for a class that could affect your line of work but generally don't.
What makes his family special is that the Starlight's have unique abilities that were considered legendary among their kind.
