Chapter 41: The Change

POV: Rex

*A month later*

A brown tiger was asleep in a cave. It was plain looking beside the two tapestries hanging over the tiger's leaf bed. The tapestry was navy blue with a picture of Rex on it. Another tapestry in the room was amber with a picture of Swamp on it. However, it was above a bed made of mud and swamp plants.

"Shh.... be quiet." Voices entered his room, causing him to frown.

Rex wanted to sleep a little longer, but he guessed it could only last for, so long. However, the tiger remained still as if asleep.

Something hit the ground, and there was a faint growl. "Can you be any louder?!" Someone hissed.

Suddenly, Rex got up a start as someone started using him as a bouncing cloth.

*Note: Trampoline, but Panthera Regina's creatures have no clue what the word is. They know the descriptions from the sirens, and in some villages, both animals, Great Beast, and Native People try to create one.*

Rex growled as he turned to see it was Velox that was on his back. "And this was your only option to wake me?"

Velox smiled as he tried to remain balanced as Rex turned to face the entrance of his room. It had no cloth blocking it as it was only Native People that believed indoors. Well, some Great Beasts like to use enchanted stone doors or secret entrances, but that is beside the point.

"I see the Swamp Monster is an early bird. I thought it was just he was given tasks to do." Rex said with a yawn, showing off his sharp white teeth. "It's too earl...."

*Splash* *Giggles*

Water was thrust onto Rex with the following of laughter. The brown tiger shook his head as if fully awake now. In doing so, Velox was forced off and was in front of him within a second.

"WHAT WAS THAT?!!!" Rex roared, causing the Royal cave to shake a little. The brown tiger with navy eyes was still getting used to his powers. It was soon discovered that he had a connection to Earth and Nature Elements. However, at the moment, only the Earth responded to him.

"Water." Velox chirped, dodging Rex's claws.

However, the 'water' did not smell nor taste like water.

A black griffinling appeared out of the blue. It was Currere who was smiling and holding a bucket, or at least that is what Cursor called it. She smiled and giggled again.

Ever since the battle, Roseis had formally taken in Swamp and Currere as her cubs. She also takes in Rojo as a sister and Kadupul as her niece. This did not surprise Rex at all, as his mother did the same with Bamboo and her cubs.

"Come on!!!!" Velox yelped as his unusually short snow leopard fur bounced with him. The little snow leopard-like cheetah grabbed Rex's left front paw gently in his mouth and tried to force him out of the prince's room.

"It's too early," Rex whined like a cub again that making Currere giggle as her tail moved gently back and forth. "They can have it without me. I am, not considered a prince anymore." The Bengal tiger mumbled.

Velox hissed as Currere lashed her tail. The two have been hanging out more and more. Rex was starting to become concerned that they might be leaving out Pola. However, the small polar bear cub was never a morning person, like the snow leopard.

"I can't believe you are not going to Kadupul's announcing day!!!" Currere growled, causing her to shift into the hybrid form of a griffin and a black bear. This always occurs when she is stressed.

Rex looked at the brown eye Griffling bear. It turned out that she would never shift into a black bear as her DNA was considered too unstable. However, she would live a happy long life, and it does not block her abilities.
