POV: Rex
A snowy owl Griffin came out of the sleeping cave hallway wearing a bright blue necklace with no gemstone. This was Hailstorm, Hail for short. He was a mixed breed that could not shift.
Hail was mostly white with a scattering of light gray spots and an odd long tail. The Griffin's face was more owl-like, and he had odd wings. They looked broken, but that did not stop him from flying.
Rex remembered asking Hail if it hurt to fly, and the Griffinling replied with a smile. "'I don't know. Does it hurt to walk?'" The Prince did not understand what Hail meant even now.
Sometimes Hail would speak very oddly as if he was thinking at a faster speed than most. The snowy owl Griffin also tended to mix words ups.
"Who is he?" Kadupul whispered to Rex.
The Prince got an odd look from Roseis, Rojo, and Navy, who were both testing him and judging him. *Maybe being blind is not a bad thing.* Rex thought as he gave a nervous smile to the adults before looking at Hail.
"Hailstorm. He's a member of Claws' Haven." Rex replied in a whisper. The Prince tried his best to be discreet while doing it, but it felt obvious.
"That would be explained why he has a scent of a tiger," Kadupul whispered back.
"Why is he even here?" Cursor growled, not afraid of being lectured later for being rude and disrespectful.
"Cursor, sit down, and please keep in mind that it's disrespectful to interrupt the speaker." Rojo's Kadupul adopted mother spoke.
Cursor glared at the fox but sat down without much fuss. Kadupul and Currere chuckled as the leopard girl was put in her place.
Rex smiled as he rolled his eyes. Some things never changed.
"I don't understand why they left the fur brain speak." Cursor mumbled.
"Shhh....." Rex hissed at her. "You know Hail is good with addressing Creatures of any tribe." He paused. "And it's rude talking about his disability like that."
Rex could not see how many creatures attend as from where he was sitting, he only can see the forest in front of him. Plus it was still dark as the sun cast a shadow on the Western side of the cave.
(Hail)
The snowy owl Griffin was very nervous. This was his first speaking in from of a large crowd. Hail was only used to numbers up to thirty, not nearly the entire Island of Panther Regina.
Hail was standing at the edge of the Royal Cave which had a giant hole on the western side of it. He gulped as millions of eyes looked at him.
*Can they even hear me from down there?* Hail wondered, taking another breath.
"Go ahead Hail, there waiting." Hail heard Aunt Roseis speaking to him from the throne.
Hail did not look back at her but felt a sense of pride stirring up inside him. *Maybe after today, the father would be allowed me to become Head Griffin.*
"Welcome one and all to the Announcement Ceremony to the smallest mouse to the largest Sphinx. Thank you all for coming today." Hail started, spreading his wings, which had a slight blue-gray tint to them. "Now, I know a lot has happened in the past four months. We had floods, storms, and droughts that impacted everyone as a whole. However, I am very thankful that you came here for a chance at a new start." Hail spoke clearly which appeared to echo.
It was part enchantment, part luck that the Royal Cave could amplify the voice of any creature. This allows anyone to get the point across without a lot of birds or going to every individual.
