Chapter 25

I grabbed a coat and the key to the shop. Sage grabbed the keys to the apartment and a jacket. We both looked at each other before I opened the door and Sage nodded so I opened the door. I looked both ways and did not see anyone. So we both put on our hoods and started walking. The wind was pretty hard at the moment and I almost lost my hood. I panically grabbed it. As I did the key fell out of my pocket. Sage bent down and grabbed it. As she did her hood fell off and I looked behind us to see someone standing there about two blocks away in all black. I grabbed Sage and she looked back and saw them. We both started running. Our hoods fell off but we did not care because we were close to the store and it had cameras.
    We made it to the door and I unlocked it. I looked over and the person was gone but I still ran in and locked it behind us. I took a deep breath and looked out to see if anyone was out there. No one was. So I turned around and Sage was already looking behind the counter. I walk over to her and help her look. We searched through bin after bin and drawer after drawer. Each one had either receipts or random log books. There were old notes and old dusty books with facts and information about the animals. The Sage slapped my shoulder and I said "ouch" she said "sorry" she then handed me a piece of paper. On it was her information and mine. Which made me nervous because if anyone broke in here they could do what Sage does and find me. I grab it and fold it into half. Then I stuff it into my jacket. She looks at me confused and I say "It is too risky to have this in here just in case someone breaks in" she nods and we head to the door.
    We both look out and notice the wind has slowed down a bit. I open the door and Sage walks out first. I follow behind her and I lock the door. I again check to see if anyone is around. There was still no one. So we started to run back to the apartment. We make it there and so no one. We unlock the door and barg in. We slam it and lock it. Then we both start laughing hysterically and we both lay down on the bed laughing. We started crying from laughing so hard, neither of us knew what we were laughing about but we did not care.
    I take the paper out of my pocket and look at it. Sage notices me getting serious and stops laughing. She looks at me and then the paper. She then says "I know where she is, while we were running I searched it" I raised my eyebrows and then said "so spill the beans, where is she" Sage paused for a second and then said "up north on the border, right next to the wall" I smiled and said "can you tell if she is alive or not?" Sage nodded her head yes. I smiled and took a deep breath of relief. I laid there on the bed and just stared at the ceiling. It took a few minutes before Sage said "that was a lot of fun" I looked over at her and said "what was?" She looked over at me and said "the running and stealing." I chuckled and said "well I will be running with you again I can promise that but I won't make it a habit to steal" She paused and said " deal" we both laid there staring at the ceiling. Time seemed to go by so slowly. From time to time I would glance over at the clock for it to only say it's only been a few minutes. I took a deep breath and looked over at Sage. I then asked "could you possibly send something to her since you have her location" Sage raised her eyebrows and said "well we can try, I have not used it for that before. How are we supposed to pay though" I thought about it for a second and the said "well do you know your dads card" She thought about it for a moment and then said "no but I can text him real quick if he can help us out" I smiled and said "you can text him through your brain?" She nods her head yes and then says "okay done now to see if he replies"
