Fear raised through my chest up to my throat and my stomach danced and flipped like olympic dancers. Institanius dread as I heard those words it almost made my knees buckle in fear. I hope that he is not being followed and that he is going to be okay. That letter needed to get to Jane but currently his life is more valuable than that piece of paper.
I seemed to be standing there for far too long because Sage snapped her fingers in front of me. Which indeed ironically snapped me out of it. I blinked before saying "well he needs to make sure, or get away before he gets hurt. Wait describe him to me" She stands there for a second and im jumping to the conclusion that she's sending it to him. So I wait for a second and then decide to go look out the window. The sun was gone but it was still slightly light outside. The wind still howled away and seemed to not stop or be slowing down anytime soon. It makes me wonder how he was able to even see him. Sage walked up next to me and looked outside. I could see slight fear in her face and eyes. She was probably worried. I looked back out the window and she whispered "we should of not sent him out there" I lean closer to her so out shoulders were touching and said "I know and i'm sorry" She looked over at me and said "it's not your fault" I look back at her and said "well it's not yours" she cut me off by saying "it's all of ours" I sighed.
At this point the window started to get foggy and I could not see out the window anymore. So I closed the curtain and walked into the kitchen. Sage watched me and did not move. I grabbed two bowls and made us some ramen. I made it and handed her one. She was sitting at the outside counter and looked at me with a raised eyebrow. I sat down too and looked at her. I said "we didn't eat last night" She seemed surprised yet pleased. We ate in silence till we were done with our meals. I grabbed our bowls and took them to the sink. I started to clean them. I heard her walk to the bathroom. I watched her disappear behind the door.
I stood there dissociating on the running water. Watching the steam slowly rise up in pockets of clouds. I was woken up by the howling wind shaking my building. Making it rattle like keys on a keychain. I looked up to see the lights start to flicker. Yet again my fear skyrocketed. Then Sage runs out of the bathroom and looks at me terrified. She freezes and then says "I can't search anything, like my mind is empty. There is nothing there" I watch her start to hyperventilate and I walk over to her. She looked at me before I noticed her face start to harden. One side of her face stopped moving as the other still had facial expressions. Her right eye started to wander off and the other stayed looking at me. Tears were falling from her eyes as she collapsed in my arms. Her breathing quickened as she looked up at me. I dragged her over to the bed where I laid her down. She tried to muffle something out but I could not understand her. I could not help but start to cry because I had no clue what to do or what was happening. She raised her left arms and grabbed my hand as she laid there. The lights went out and all I could feel was her warm hand on mine. Her breathing was muffled by the howling of the wind. So I sat there in the dark with her.
'I don't know what to do. What should I do? I'm scared, please help me out. Anything at this point. You have always been the helpful one, the one to make me smile and calm me down.'
I got up and she whimpered in protest but I went to go get a blanket to lay over her. I knew it was going to get cold soon and I knew she could not move. I got the blanket and walked over to her. Her eyes were still open as she blankly stared at the ceiling. Tears were streaming down her face. I gently wiped them away as I also wiped mine away. I noticed she was probably uncomfortable so I grabbed a pillow and put it under head. It got too much for me. I collapsed by her side and whispered "I don't know what to do" She hummed something still unable to move. I sobbed and whispered "I know I know" I could see her chest raise up and down as she gently breathed.
The wind still howled outside and it was pitch black everywhere. I could hear screaming outside and sirens. I stuffed my face into the side of the bed and sobbed into it. I had no idea what was going on or what to do. I knew that I had to protect Sage and myself. My mind could only think of a thousand things that were happening. Yet I stayed there. The building was still shaking and the wind seemed to die down. Just a little bit so it was not so loud. I heard a loud knock on my door. I looked at it and froze. There were only a few people who knew where I lived and a lot of people who were after us.
I got up and grabbed the gun. I still was crying but I slowly walked to the door. Right before I reached it there was another loud bang. I jumped and winced. I looked out the peephole. I saw two silhouettes that were huddled near each other. One smaller than the other. I opened the door and was face to face with Bert and Jane.
