Chapter 32

October 1st, 4052
    I heard a man say hello and I could not believe it. Of course my reckless actions have been my downfall. I heard Jane respond "what are you doing here"
Wait, she knows this person? Who do you think it is? Oh imagine if it was her husband now as a cyborg. Wouldn't that be crazy.
The man responded with "well I was stationed over here for clean up so" I heard Jane say oh and then it was silent. Then I could hear their muffled voices through the door. It was strange to hear crickets chirping next to me. It seemed like hours before I could hear Jane walking up to the door. I heard her insert the key and then unlock it. She opened it and stopped inside. She said "good to see you're still alive, uh my daughters boyfriend stopped by and that's who I was talking to. I did not see anyone else but I could be wrong." I smiled and said "yeah I was ready to get a broom to fight with" I turned around and grabbed the broom. I then got into a combat stance and Jane slapped the broom out of my hand. I looked at her shocked and she said "yeah you would not survive with a broom" she then walked out of the room. I was shocked and my mouth was open. I was astonished by her sass.
    I left the room too and looked at Derek who was drinking water. With luminesit bones sparkled in the darkness under his black scales that seemed to hide him perfectly. He looked up at me and stopped drinking. Probably wondering why I was staring so much. I quickly looked away and walked to Jane who was behind the front desk. I noticed there was a perfect cubby that I could hide in. So I snuck over and hid under the counter. She looked down at me and shook her head. I could still see Derek and he gave me one last look before he coiled up. I looked up at Jane and asked "do you have any pets at home?" She hesitated and said "other than my fish no" I nodded my head remembering her telling me that before. I then said "I kind of want to take him home" She looked down at me and then where I was looking. I was looking at Derek and said "if you had the place to put him I would let you but honestly he would take up half your apartment." I nodded my head and said "how old is he" she said "uh if I remembered right he's about twelve years old, they live up to twenty" I then ask "is he done growing?" she says "he has about two more feet right now, He gets up to thirty-two feet long and three feet wide" I looked at her surprised. She looked down and said "well his head is four feet wide which is pretty impressive, he's one of the most rarest snakes left" I nodded my head and said "so what are we doing today, just opening and checking on the animals" she nodded her head yes and I sat there.
    I happened to fall asleep in my little cubby. I awoke to Jane kicking the bottom of my shoe. I awoke and was ready to run. Yet I hit my head on the counter which made me sit back down again. Jane looked down at me and lended me a hand. I took it and stood up. It was dark out and she said "it's time to go home" I blinked a few times and looked at Jane. I said "my bad" she chuckled and said "no worries". I brushed off my butt from all the dust and we walked out of the shop. Jane looked at me and said "do you think you will be okay walking on your own" I nodded my head and said "yeah, i'll just find a broom to fight with" we both laughed and we went our separate ways.
    The air was fairly warm and it was a little humid. I guess from all the freezing weather and the heating. It would make sense. The night was very quiet. In the distance you could hear laughter and some sirens but other than that it was dead silent. I enjoyed my walk home. I completely ignored the fact I could die but enjoyed it because it could be my last. It was something I learned from everything I went through. As well as watching Jane and Bert fall in love over night. It was the fact that life is something that is beautiful and something that is to be cherished. If I looked at every detail of how things grow and become something it's one of the most beautiful sights. Something that you can not unsee. How plants bloom as well as how love blossoms and blooms, how friendships grow, or even how when destruction happens how new opportunities blossom.
    That my friend is what I want you to remember. That no matter what happened or happens, you won't take it out on the earth. Don't take it out on yourself either. This always happens for a reason and at the end of the day if you just stop and look at everything around you. There is always something to be grateful for or something to admire. Things may get rocky and rough but sometimes it is okay to ignore them for a second and go outside, enjoy the little things in life. Well I guess you can also reread this as many times as you want if that helps. Do me a favor and everyday find something to be grateful for, something that makes you smile. I just wanted you to know that and that I am grateful for you being here. Even if I am not really real in your world I am very much alive in this one and will always be here waiting for you to return.
