Chapter 24

I could feel the warm sun on my face. The air was crisp and cold. It was very inviting to take a deep breath. I moved my arm to feel another one right beside it. Sage's warm body was pressed up against my back. Her arms were wrapped around my waist. I did not hate the feeling but at the same time it is  soothing to be held. It is something I truly have never had experienced before. Not having conditional parents, there was no affectionate physical love. It was rough two sided love that hurt every time it was given to me. The clock told me it was still early in the morning and that there was no rush to get up and do things. I wonder if Sage would get upset if she found out that she was subconsciously doing this.
I guess we will find out right?
I looked up to see the gun still on the nightstand which was a relief and a dread. That's because I know that gun is not legal and would definitely get us in a lot of trouble if it was found. The sun made the room look very gloomy but we can not open the curtain because they would be able to see in. Even though they know where I live. It makes me wonder why they have not tried and forced their way in. It is possible that they can and get away with it. Yet I also think that they are passive creatures in nature and that even if they wanted to they could not unless ordered to. I think it's because of their programming. Yet I have no idea because we are not allowed to research them or even know of them. After the war they outlawed any cyborg, research, knowledge, and talk of them. Only people that are above the age of 20 know about them and none of us dare talk about them. Unless we know we are not being listened to.
    I felt Sage wake up. She kind of jumped and froze. I am guessing she saw what she was doing. I could not help but smile. I kindly said "morning" her arm quickly left my side and she sat up. I look over my shoulder at her peering down at me. She looked terrified. I said "I don't mind, if I did I would have gotten up" She looked at the pillow and she started to turn red because I truly think she is finally waking up and before was not. I laid my head back down on the pillow. It took a few minutes but she layed back down too. She whispered "why aren't you up doing things, normally when you wake up your up cleaning or something" I took a deep breath and said "just got some things i'm thinking about is all" she hesitated for a second and then said "want to talk about it?" I wondered if I should. I rolled over and faced her. Which seemed to startle her because her eyes widened a little. I quietly said "I have been just thinking about why they have not shown up yet" she said "who?" I frowned my eyebrows and said "the cyborgs" . She raised her eyebrows and then frowned them as if she was conflicted. She sat there for a second and took a deep breath. She said "I think they won't because it's too much of a risk of them being found, did any of them look human?" I thought about it and she was right. None of them did. They all had eyes that would give them away instantly. There are some that are way too big to be even thought of being human. I imagine that they still have radars for them still. I whispered "where did you find me, how did you find me, how did you know? '' She smiled and said "first off I can't tell you where but I have been there before and I honestly had no idea that's where you would be. I searched everywhere though. You have a chip that can be located in your body but their warehouse blocked the signal. Yet I knew where your last location was so I did detective work. There are not many people that go missing and if they do its because of them so, I went there and sure enough there you were. I was there for a very long time. I then realized that I could not go in there unless I had a weapon. That's where my dad comes into the story. I ran to his house and I knew where his gun was so I busted through the door and grabbed it. He tried to stop me but I escaped screaming 'dont ask question' as I ran out the door. I then ran back and found them leaving. So I took it as my opportunity to save you. I snuck through the side door and well you remember what happened." I listened to every word and it all added up other than how she found out how those people went missing. The cyborgs are banned from the press so how did she know it was them. I asked "how did you find out it was the cyborgs" She stared at me for a second and then said "My brain is half of a computer, I can surf any part of the web" I raised my eyebrows in surprise because I knew she had the brain piece but I did not know it worked like that. She smiled and said "yeah I know its kind of cool, Anything I want to know I can just search it up" I smile and go to say something but she stops me and says "no I wont search something" I roll my eyes and say "no, you can look up the information of where Jane is, Right?" She sat there for a second and then said " I dont have her code, I need to know it to be able to search it up" I looked at her and then I remembered we have the key to her shop. Maybe she could go find something in there. So I asked " how do you get the code?" She thought for a second and then said "I need either the person or their paperwork that has it on it" I wondered if maybe she had some paperwork there so I asked "could we go to the store and find something?" She again thought and then said "most storekeepers haft to keep a document about them in their store so we should be able to find something there, yes" I smiled and said "you just looked that up just now didn't you?" She smiled and said "maybe" I got out of bed and said "well lets go" her eyes widened in shock but got up.
