The door opened and closed on the other side of the car. I looked over at him and he looked angry. The car was idling and the man in front was not there anymore. I noticed the man look down at his wrist but moved it so I could not see. I softly said.
"So, what's the plan-"
He snapped at me and pointed his finger in my face.
"You are so lucky I don't kill you right here and now"
I looked cross eyed at his finger then back at him. I rolled my eyes and looked over to my left. He grabbed my shoulder and yanked it so I looked at him.
" What the hell is your problem, I just kidnapped you then threatened to sell you and then kill you and you don't even care. Are you that miserable that you don't even value your own life?"
I looked him right in the eyes and smiled and tilted my head.
"You don't value my life so why should I, my hands are tied. Literally"
Without missing a beat he responded with.
"Your not funny and also that's not my job, my job is to get the package and then deliver it"
I scoffed.
"You just proved my point, thank you. Really helping me out"
He blinked a few times and then quietly asked.
"Is that sarcasm"
I giggled and glared at him.
"Yeah it was, What were you not programed to process sarcasm"
That really made him mad because he got really close to me. I leaned back against the door, his face inches away from me.
"Don't ever bring that up again"
I looked into his eyes, switching back and forth and swallowed.
"My bad"
That was all I could muster to say. His eyes are very intimidating. I saw a smile curl up on his face as he slowly shrunk back. The front door opened and I jumped. The man sat down well and more or less flopped down. The whole car shook. He did not say anything, he just put a location into the gps and the car slowly backed out. The guy next to me looked at him and then me. Then at the location.
The car was built like a typical taxi and had the window bar thing that divided the front from the back. The man next to me tapped their window and said.
"Yo, you can't do that"
The man said back.
"Watch me"
The man next to me looked at me again. He then sat back again and rubbed his hands together. He looked out the window. I couldn't help but analyze him like a wild creature. I have not seen a cyborg or robot since I was a kid. Even then they were painted as monsters. It makes me wonder how many more are hiding down in the darkness. Alone and probably doing things like this. It might be the only way they survive. There must be a colonie. This one looks in good condition still so there must be a doctor with them or a welder.
Suddenly I looked into the reflection of the window and noticed him smirking as he watched me scan him. I looked away quickly and looked out my window instead. There are so many questions that I wanted to have answered yet I knew the ice was thin and I should not speak. These windows are very tented. Almost a purple tent and it made everything very distorted.
The roads were empty and the lights created a very poor lighting on where the road was. The vapor coming out of the sewer created a soft misty fog cast over the road in some place. The buildings towers taller than I could see. Every once in a while you will see some lost soul sitting on a bench or out smoking in front of their apartment. Yet after the war everyone stays inside. It is kind of sad to think about. When I remember it, everyone was out enjoying life and there was always movement. No where you could escape the parties. It was loud all hours of the day and night. I guess a war can do that to someone. Well I guess a whole country.
The woman's voice chimed in again.
"Five minutes till your destination"
The man next to me clenched his hands and spit out.
"Hey you know it's not too late to not go through with this right"
I looked over at him and then at the front. The man in the front chuckled and said.
"What you got a crush on the piece of meat"
The man next to me scoffed and blurted out.
"No you know why I don't want go threw with this"
The man in the front turned and looked at him.
"Awe does someone have ptsd, how cute that they still have emotions. You know we can change that for you. Make you feel all better"
The man next to me crossed his arms and shook his head no. The man in the front turned back around. I noticed the man next to me got very nervous. He could not sit still and he was looking everywhere to keep his mind from wandering too far. I could not help but share that same anxiety. I honestly wonder if this is where they are going to kill me or what. There could be a million things they could do. Yet I think they have gone through with it too. I wonder if it is some sort of cyborg transformation. It could be a tourtur thing. It could be a slaughterhouse. There are so many things that it could be yet, there is no true way to find out until it's happening. It's like wishing upon a star and not knowing if your wish is going to come true until it does. No matter how many what if's and maybe's run through your head, you wont get any closer to the truth.
