"I'll see you later, baby, okay? Just be careful." He listened to his girlfriend's words through the phone. Making him simply smirk to himself as he let out that deep okay. All while he let the girl go. Earning that immediate nudge to his shoulder from the man next to him.
"What the fuck has you smiling? Huh?" It was Jin who the man was standing next to. Having given him that smirk all too heavy, in which Yoongi only shook his head. Walking into a small restaurant tucked in the corner of the street they were walking along, only to greet the lady inside almost instantly. All while they took a seat. Carrying demeanors ever so arrogant as they did so.
"You know I always smile, hyung." And just like that, Jin laughed. Laughed that laugh so smug, even if it was Yoongi who couldn't help but smile. Smile a smile that told Jin all he needed to know. Because he could read the boy. Read the boy better than anyone else.
"Is it her?" Jin met his eyes. His eyes that began to carry pure life and joy in them. So used to seeing a demeanor upon the boy that held nothing but distance within it. Distance and that anger Yoongi could never control no matter how hard he'd try as Jin watched his eyes slowly shift down to the menu lying before him.
"I really think I found the one, hyung." He never thought the boy could sound so genuine. Never thought he'd see his entire being fall nervous as the words left his lips. So afraid to not be taken serious by the men he saw as his brothers. And the men who were so used to running through women as though they were nothing. Carrying that look to himself Jin never saw before. Because the man would never. Never date. Never take women seriously. Only ever using them for his needs before moving on to the next girl.
"Sh-She just makes me happy, hyung—"
"Oh really—"
"I-I'm serious, Jin. I can feel it." Yoongi looked over at him. Making Jin's entire being seize underneath his words. Having thought back to the girl herself. The same girl Jin had been watching slowly fall completely in love with him. Yet the same girl Jin had fallen for in pure silence. He knew he didn't have a single chance with her.
"You sure it's not just the sex—"
"Fuck off." Yoongi was quick to smirk at the man. The same man who could see all that genuine happiness. Able to read it upon his expression that turned all too soft upon just thinking about the woman. The same woman Yoongi never believed he'd have in life.
"You know I'm happy for you, Yoongi. . . you deserve it." Jin could feel the hurt within his own words. Even if he was so used to swallowing down that endless pain. Keeping it a complete secret that he had fallen for his best friends girlfriend, despite Yoongi himself knowing. Knowing that the man had something for her. Because Yoongi always paid attention. And he'd make sure. Make sure to show that the woman was his. And his only.
Yet the man always knew. Knew that Jin would never try anything. That he'd keep his hands to himself. That he wouldn't risk his life in the ways he had now. Lying there on the floor of his own home with blood painted all over his face as the sound of a gun shot rings through his ears. Because the man had crossed that line. That line Yoongi never thought would ever get broken by the man.
However, all Yoongi could do was let that bullet from the gun he held, hit the floor. Completely unable to kill that single person who he cherished more than he'd ever say. All while that single tear slipped his face alongside the gun. Leading to Ming voicing out her husbands name in that single manner so broken. Because the girl knew. Knew this wasn't the type of person she was.
"Y-Yoongi baby—"
"I'm done—"
"Yoongi—"
