Eyes ever so heavy, the woman could barely keep them open. Trying her hardest to do so much as listen to her professors words, even if the woman had barely slept. Unable to let herself fall asleep before he got home. It being the woman's brother. Her same brother who she was so used to being selfish when it came to such things. Yet her same brother that would have her mind and body feeling as though she could barely handle anything anymore.
However, there was no denying that love she held for the man. Watching as he endlessly self destructs day in and day out. Leaving her with nothing more than her heart aching in want to see him live a life worth living.
Yet she knew. Knew without him she would have nothing in life. Because the boy was all she had. Had and needed during those times where she realized she truly was all alone. Being left by her parents to go and stay with him. And she watched. Watched him do the most inhumane things just to make sure they were taken care of. She was taken care of. The girl was his little sister.
And she listened to the professor that had her ears perking the second a specific set of words left his lips. Taking her attention away from every single inch of her thoughts as her eyes trailed over to the door.
"We have a new student." She couldn't help but look at the boy. The same boy who her eyes watched in that manner all too heavy. His hair blonde and the corner of his mouth stained with nothing more than blood. Causing the woman's gaze to just barely falter underneath his own.
And she watched. Watched as he looked at her. Taking the seat beside her own in such a way that had her curiosity becoming just barely peeked. Knowing that no one ever cared to come near her. Because she wouldn't. Wouldn't allow others in. Wouldn't allow people to get to know her. She was completely closed off.
So, she ignored him. Ignored his presence. Ignored the fact that he had done so much as sat next to her as she let her gaze rest upon the window next to her frame. Watching as the trees leave's moved alongside the wind. All while others walk within it. Holding smiles she couldn't remember carrying in so long. Because life wasn't fair. Wasn't fair at all.
And she waited. Waited for the class to be dismissed. Allowing for the woman to immediately get to her feet, only to notice that he was already gone. Causing that softness of her expression to go ever so blank, even if she didn't care enough to think anything of it. Having made her way to the rooftop of the school. It being the one place she loved to go to. And the one place that where she'd find herself all alone as a single cigarette met with her lips. Encasing her throat with that smoke all too heavy. Even if she loved it. Loved the way it burned.
"You know those are bad for you. . ." She didn't know who the voice belonged to. Carrying a tone deep enough to have her gaze just barely narrowing as she scoffed underneath the man's words. All while turning around just enough to catch sight of him standing there.
"I didn't ask." She didn't care to be rude. Didn't care to scoff all over again before taking yet another drag of the thing itself before tossing the thing off to the side. Holding all that irritation in her gaze. . . that the man could recognize so well.
"There are better things on the market—"
"Like what?" Cut off, the man already had himself placed closer towards the girl. Even if she didn't care. Care to talk to him. Care to hear what he had to say as his gaze stayed locked upon her own. Looking at the woman with a gaze heavy enough to make anyone falter as he smirked underneath her action. All while the girl stepped away from him. Moving over towards the door as she did so, only to look back at the boy with that smiled I don't do drugs. Earning that immediate head tilt from the man who she had no clue would turn out to be everything she did have in life. Even if he was the same man who had her sitting there in front of her brothers grave with nothing more than tears in her eyes. Reminding her of everything she had once saw as all she had in life. Because it was him. Him who she had once seen as her everything.
