He listened to that front door open. Pairing with those footsteps that were all too hesitantly slow. Making him voice out the girls name in that manner so deep. Too deep.
"Where have you been? Huh?" He was already on his feet. Earning that look from the woman who's gaze turned instantly startled. Not having seen the one man who was doing everything he would when the two were so young.
"SeJun—"
"Answer me, Ming—"
"We are not kids anymore, SeJun—"
"Is this what the fuck you do then? Huh? You leave your fucking kid while you go figure yourself out—" And never before had she brought her hand across his face so quickly. All while his words made her gaze fall completely deadly. Even if the woman could feel. Feel herself falling apart.
"Don't you ever disrespect me like that—"
"Ming—"
"I was with Jin, okay? Is that what you wanted to fucking hear?" He could see those tears wanting to well. Pairing with the brokenness of her tone. Because the woman had never felt like such a disaster. Doing and acting upon things in life that she hadn't in so long. And none of it felt good. Felt good at all.
"You know you can talk to me, Ming—"
"Talk to you about what, SeJun? Talk to you about my marriage being over. Talk to you about the fact that I've now also cheated on my fucking husband. O-Or the fact that I have to tell my child that his father and I are getting a divorce—"
"Ming—"
"All I've ever wanted since the day I had YeJun was to be happy, SeJun. And I ruined that. I-I ruined what I've tried so hard to provide for my family and my child—"
"Ming." And he let himself. Let himself bring that heaviness of his hand up to her face. Knowing that look upon the woman he could read so well. She was his sister.
"You didn't ruin it, Ming—"
"How am I going to tell him that we're getting a divorce, SeJun? Hmm? His birthday's just next week—"
"He's not a baby, Ming—"
"I don't care how old he is, SeJun. He's still my child." Ming shook her head. Wishing at times that she would've turned a blind eye to it all. That she would've endured upon any and all heartache in silence just to not disrupt him. His happiness. His heart.
"I-I shouldn't be having to do this, SeJun. He doesn't deserve any of this." She couldn't help but drop her head within his chest. Missing every ounce of that warmth she hadn't felt in so long from the man. Realizing in that single moment just how much she had missed him. Making her wonder how she ever did. . . what she had done to him.
"You know life isn't perfect, Ming. And he knows that you love him. He knows the both of you love him." He swallowed down all that anger. Anger towards the one man who he had wanted to kill the minute he finally saw him again. Even if deep down SeJun himself knew. Knew that Yoongi did love the boy. Having loved him the minute he first held him in his arms. And the day he came home to the one girl who had nothing more than tears in her eyes as she voiced out the most gentle I'm pregnant to the man.
"What goes on in your marriage doesn't change the fact that you two are still both parents, Ming. You're not going to lose your child." He let his hand fall to her cheek. Watching as those tears fell ever so slowly as he did so. Because he knew the girl. Knew how afraid she was to be seen as a bad parent. To be hated by her child. To feel like she had hurt him.
