She could hear the sound of one's steps. Having came next to the girl where she stood in that single private waiting room all alone. Carrying every tear in her eyes that she swore she was soon to run out of. Even if it was then that she listened. Listened to her name be said by the one person she'd only be around for no longer than a few hours or a few minutes when she'd see him. Only speaking to the man when she needed to.
Yet right now, the girl had never thought her name could sound so gentle. All while the man moved next to her frame. Earning nothing more than those softness of her eyes upon his heavy ones as Yoongi noticed that immediate faltering of her expression. Because the girl was hurting. Swearing that her child wasn't going to recover. That he'd still end up dying. That she'd never get to speak to him again.
And with a broken cry, the girl shook her head. Wishing that she'd pull herself together and stop. But it was so hard. So hard to ignore the endless worries running through her mind.
"The doctor said we can see him, Ming. . ." His voice was so deep. So deeply slow. Having said a set of words that had the girl looking at him with that gaze of complete vulnerability. All while she watched the man gesture for her to follow him. Even if it was then that he felt. Felt her grab his arm. Felt her hold onto him as though she wouldn't be able to handle doing any of this by herself as Yoongi looked down at the girl. Even if he'd kept silent. Walking the two of them over to that single room their child was in. Their same child who the mother of went completely numb upon the sight of him. Unable to remember how many times. How many times she's seen the people she loved in the exact same position.
"YeJun." Yet the boy was completely asleep. Having been put on an amount of medicine that would have him out for hours. Making her swear that she was looking at her husband lying there. Able to remember the amount of times she had rushed to the hospital for the man. The same man she had no clue whether or not would actually make it each time.
And it was Yoongi himself who never thought he'd get choked up so quickly. Unable to handle seeing his son lying there in the same ways he would. Making him feel that sort of pain he didn't know how to describe no matter how badly he were to try. Because the boy wasn't just some random boy. Yet was the person who his wife had told him about in that manner so nervous. And the person who he watched slowly grow within the woman, only to be brought into the world in a manner that had Yoongi finally feeling. Feeling like life was okay. Okay as long as he had them.
And he couldn't. Couldn't contain it no matter how desperately he wished to try. Because all of it was hitting him. The fact that he had torn apart his family. The fact that he had destroyed his relationship with his child himself. And the man couldn't handle it. Handle thinking that this was where it'd all end.
"Yoongi." It was her voice that filled the air. Carrying that tone to it so broken as she looked up at the man who she allowed herself to take hold of almost instantly, only to feel. Feel the way he grabbed onto her. Feel the way he cried into her neck in those ways that'd break her heart into pieces each time he would. Holding that love and care for him no woman would ever be capable of holding as strongly as her. The man was her everything.
"I know, baby. . . I know." She could feel her own tears falling. All while the man kept that base of his head within her neck. Knowing that this wasn't. Wasn't supposed to be like this. Wasn't supposed to involve his child. And all he could do was blame himself. Blame himself for it all.
"It's my fault, Ming—"
"Yoongi—"
"H-He just barely turned fucking 18, Ming." And all either of them had were those tears. Tears that spoke so much louder than their words ever would. Because both were feeling that guilt. That guilt for bringing a child into their lives that were nowhere near safe. Surrounded by so many people who wanted either of them dead. Yet still they had tried. Tried to do the things average people wouldn't think twice about doing. Whether it be getting married. Or whether it be having kids together.
