Chapter 33 / Kite × and × Slots

After healing up for a couple days, you're eyesight returned and Gon and Killua have contacted you about something called Chimera Ants and to keep it top secret, not even Illumi should know. You got through the border's tight security finally and there was Killua, Gon, and a tall man with long white hair.

"How are you boys doing?"

"We're fine Y/n! So are you that willing to help us?" Gon asks while the white haired tall man looks at you carefully but you just ignore his looks.

"Well of course! Why wouldn't I? So from my understanding is you guys are technically training while there is literally mutations running around killing humans?"

"That's right! And his name is Kite by the way"

"Gon I don't-"

Suddenly a bee flies over between you and Kite, before finally deciding to fly to you and give you a small note. It read:

"Help! Chimera Ant Nest! Rocky Area Notify the Hunter's Association!"

You tense up while reading the note which had been written in blood, you hand off the note to Kite from him to read. You look over at Gon and Killua. Killua stares at Gon but Gon is looking intensely at the bee. Suddenly it clicked.

"You knows who's bee that is don't you?"

Killua snaps you put of your train of thought but you just hum and look away over to Kite. "What do we do?"

"It will be risky. Do you want to come?"

"Of course"

"We're pros"

"Alright then we have to hurry, let's go" You, Gon, and Killua start stretching a bit. You end up cracking your back loudly before sighing with relief.

You all look off into the deserted land before Kite quickly says," Let's go!" Darting quickly, you easily kept up with Kite as you ran directly behind him. Within no time all of you reach a a giant forest.

'Didn't think there would be a forest anywhere near where we were..'

Everyone stopped a pool of blood on the floor. Tore clothes scattered near the blood. But one piece of clothing stood out the most. A yellow and white hat.

"Shit.." You curse under your breath before looking away frustrated. Suddenly Killua picks something off the ground. "This is.. a bullet casing!"

"Nothing mechanical is allowed here, right?"

Kite steps forward towards the pool of blood," It means the underground rulers of NGL we're manufacturing guns in addition to drugs."

"But judging by this..."

"A human didn't do it." Kite's words immediately made both boys look at him intensely. It made your whole body tense up to the point it hurt. What was going on here?

"Most likely, it was a Chimera Ant. If the Chimera Ants are using guns... I hate to consider the possibility, but it's possible that the NGL's underground rulers have already been fed to the queen... What would happen if the Chimera Ants are born with their genes? The NGL and Chimera Ants... The worst combination imaginable..

..This will be an unprecedented biohazard.."

Your group walked to a near by village that was in absolute shambles. All the houses and the surrounding area was abandoned. While you were looking around of some clue of life, your dark aura started spiking, someone or something had a deep lurking fear near you.

You smirk and as you turn away from your group towards the feeling, Gon looks in a certain direction and says," Hey, something smells bad." You look over to where Gon is pointing and it looks like a stable. "It's coming from over there."
