Chapter 34 / Inspiration × to × Evolve

Finally out of the tunnels, we're back in the forest, walking for a while. The blood loss is slowly getting to you, leaving a horrible migraine and a little bit dizzy. Suddenly Kite stops and looks up at the sky, or so you thought.

"We're surrounded. And by a lot of 'em, too.." Kite warns. It's silent for a moment but a whooshing sound is heard. The boys started to notice them circling around us. We have a backs to each other in a circle type shape and face the woods.

The whooshing noise gets louder before something lands right in front of Kite but he doesn't flinch and neither does Gon, Killua, or you. A voice is suddenly heard within the thick smoke that had emerged when it hit the ground.

"Shall we decide how we kill you and in what order? You guys have three choices. I would pick wisely if I were you. One, choose the order you want to fight. Two, you can try to escape. Three, surrender and let us capture you." The smoke slowly starts to clear out and a frog with a weird blue outfit and glasses appears.

"Pick the first option, you will be able to fight us one-on-one in direct combat. You may even survive. I don't recommend the second option. If that is the choice you make, you will only anger us, and you will suffer far more as a result. Option three is the worst you can make. That is the one that would anger us even more that option two."

The smoke has completely cleared out and all the hidden Chimera Ants are exposed. "Now then, what will you do?" You groan, very annoyed from the pounding migraine and this annoying frog Chimera Ant. The attention is drawn to you by everyone.

"Let me offer this as a rebuttal you froggy bitch, let's do option four and I fight all you mother fuckers-"

"We couldn't have asked for a better deal," Kite interjects your outburst towards the Chimera Ant. "Huh-? Lemme at em, Kite, I'll fuck their shit up.."

"One-on-one with their officers. Whoever's ready, fight first.. And Y/n, you're sitting this one out with me.." You we're about to say something but Kite gives you a warning glare not to say anything so you pout and look away, upset.

"I'll go," Killua says but Gon interjects. "No, I will." They play rock-paper-scissors and Killua loses so Gon gets to fight first. Gon steps forward towards the Chimera Ants and announces," Okay, I'm first!"

A pink looking wolf looks around at the other officers and thinks out loud," Okay, let's see who goes first.." They pull out a stick that has the number six on it. "#6! Who's #6?" An armadillo chimera ant steps forward while cackling," Hehehe! Lucky me!" The Frog Chimera Ant looks over at the officer than back at Gon," Baro, huh?"

"Aye you froggy bitch, what decides the end?" You call out to the frog ant which seems to piss him of slightly. "That should be obvious, whoever dies first loses," Baro responds for the frog. "We can't just surrender?" Gon asks curiously which causes most the ants confusion but Baro gets irritated by Gon's question.

"Are you crazy? If you lose, we'll feed you to the Queen. If you don't defeat me, you're guaranteed to die!"

"Yeah, I'm okay with that. But there's no need for you to die. If I beat you, I won't eat you. If you surrender, you'll live. But if you lose, you must promise never to eat another human," Gon offers. Baro is visibly shaking with anger and frustration but a officer in the back laughs at Gon. "This guy isn't taking us seriously!" Another Ant comments on the situation as well," He has more pep than any prey I've seen!"

"Lucky you, Baro-!"

"YOU'RE DEAD!" Baro charges straight to Gon, finally fed up with all the talking. Gon is able to dodge upward from the armadillo's rolling attack. It hits a tree, completely knocking it down as Gon lands gracefully on his feet before standing up and facing his enemy.
