Chapter 23: Quest!

(Start of episode 7!)

Third P.O.V

Five and Kitty was currently biking to the Hinobi Store when they saw a bunch of people lined up outside. The twins put their bike at the bike stand and saw the reason why everyone was there. There was a sign that said 'Exclusive Hinobi Kicks Event Today'. Five and Kit looked up at the sign in awe. "Hey are all of you guys in line for the-." Five asked the people lined up. "Back of the line string bean!" a lady interrupted. "W-we're not cutting ahead. We work here." Kit said as her and her brother put their hands up in surrender.

"Bring me thee pairs! Whatever they're paying you, I'll double it!" a random man said as he waved his money around. Kit and Five then make their way through the line to the front counter where their coworkers/friends are. "Hey guys, its-." Five said, only to get interrupted by Zahra pointing the barcode gun at him. "Get back in line creeper!" she said as she shot him. Causing some barcode stickers to stick on the twins. "Zahra, it's us." Five said as he took the barcode off his mouth.

"Folks we got a special today on tall and short kids, buy now and we will throw in a free hairnet." Miko said in the intercom. "I'm not that short." Kit said with a pout. "Sorry Five. Since the sneakers went on sale this crowd's had us all on edge-" Zahra explained, only to get interrupted by a commotion. "Hey, hey! Limit one per customer!" Phil said as he tried to pull away the sneakers from a customer. "Yeah, I wanted the shoes. But they're a lot of money. They do look supper cool though." Kit said. "Why do people waste time lining up here when they can just preorder online like I did?-." Five said as he whipped out the tablet to check the preorders. "Wait...didn't I?!" he said, not seeing a check mark by his name.

"I didn't preorder!" Five said, remembering that he got distracted by Miko before hitting confirm. "Phil, hold one pair for me!" Five said, only for Phil to throw the last ones out to the crowd. "That's the last of 'em you vultures. We're sold out!" Phil said. Haneesh then changing the signs to sold out. "Mitch set aside Five pairs." Haneesh said. "He did!?" Five said in excitement. "That's right. Two for me, and two to sell, first set to stock and the other to rock." Mitch said with a laugh. Kitty could feel herself get weak at the sight of Mitch, swooning. Miko and Zahra having to hold her up.

"What about the fifth one?" Zahra asked, realizing the math didn't add up. "Don't worry about it! So you wanna buy a pair? I'll give you a nice friend discount." Mitch said as he leaned on the counter. "Wow, thanks Mitch!" Five said. "That'll be $600." Mitch said. "That's like three times more!" Five said as he shook his head in shock. "Meh. We're not great friends." Mitch said with a shrug.

"Kit could I um...talk to you real quick?" Mitch said casually, but still keeping his mean demeanor. Zahra and Miko nudging and pushing Kit while wigging their eyebrows. Kit glared at them, and then followed Mitch to the locker room. "Here." He said, looking away from her and holding out the 5th box of Hinobi Kicks he had. "I figured I'd save a pair for you. And even if you had some already, I could just sell them anyways." Mitch said, avoiding eye contact to hide his blush. "R-really? Thank you Mitch!" Kit said, unable to fight the smile on her face as she grabbed the shoe box and hugged it to her body. She quickly hugged him and then went to go put her new shoes safe in her locker for now. Mitch had a warm feeling in his body after Kit hugged him.

Kit didn't want to bum her brother out more with her pair so she decided to keep them in her locker. "Still glum over those shoes chum? You'll find another pair." Miko said. "'Another pair'!? These were limited edition, Miko. The rarest and most exclusive kind of fan merch." Five said. "Then, what's BITT got over there?" Kit asked. The three of them seeing BITT with a shoe box. Five gasped with stars in his eyes and ran over. "What are you doing with that BITT?" Five asked, seeing BITT put the shoes somewhere. "Depositing it into the Glitch Tech loot locker." Bitt said.
