Chapter 25: Dating Sim Glitch

[Non Episode Chapter] (A/N: This chapter is 3000+ words, so it's a little longer than my usual chapters. Because this used to be split into 2 parts, but I decided to combine it because I didn't want one chapter to have just 1000+ words)

Kitty's P.O.V

It was morning time and my alarm started blaring. I groan and turn it off, sitting up and rubbing my eyes. I quickly get out of bed and get ready for work excitedly, as usual. I head out and and find Five grabbing our lunch in the kitchen. "Hey Hermano! Ready for work?" I said with excitement. "Hehe yeah. Here's your lunch Abuela packed for you." He said. We both then head out, saying goodbye to our abuelos, take our bikes to work. We chain up our bikes and make our way to the Hinobi Store where Miko was waiting for us. "Hey guys! You guys ready for another day at work?" She said as she was playing on a portable Hinobi console. "When are we not?" I said doing a signature handshake with her. When we walked in I saw Mitch leaning against the front check out counter. "H-hi Mitch! You ready for another amazing day at work?" I said as I sat on the counter beside him. "Uh...yeah I guess. If by amazing you mean working with a bunch of newbies. Then yeah." Mitch said as he avoided eye contact with me, popping his jacket collar and heading to the locker room.

I sigh and hop off the counter and lean against it, crossing my arms as I pout a little bit. Another day, another failed attempt at connecting with Mitch. "I will never understand why you like him, but chin up! He'll come around, some day. I think..." Miko said trying to help me feel better. I groan in frustration at Miko's uncertainty. "You know, I never asked why do you like Williams so much?" Miko said as she hopped beside me and waved her arms around sarcastic and dramatically.

"He's the first gamer, besides me of course, Kit watched growing up. She learned all her tactics from him." Five said as he was putting price stickers on some products. "Sure he's a pro level stats gamer, everyone knows that. But he's also handsome, the hair, the jacket, the smile!" I say, starting to fan girl a bit too much. Shaking my head to return back to my senses. "But,... I know that he can be compassionate and kind. Even if it's hidden behind his mean behavior. I think when we started working here he warmed up to me. At least a little bit" I said as I remembered some of the nice moments we shared. "Heh, I'll believe it when I see it." Miko said laughing. "But you do you Kitty. If you guys actually start hitting it off and get together, Five and I will kill him if he hurts you." Miko said with a murderous look. "Hehe, thanks you guys." I said smiling.

Third P.O.V

Little did the trio know was that Mitch was listening in peaking from behind the doorway of the locker room. Hearing all of their words, specifically Kitty's. He blushes, actually thinking about what she said instead of pushing it aside. He will admit, he tolerated her a lot more than the others. He noticed how gradually he would let her into his life more than others. Thinking about the warm feelings she gave him. Mitch casually peaks from behind the shelf at Kitty as she was helping a customer. "So what is your opinion on this game?" The customer ask. "Oh this game is the best. I've played it a bit and finished it probably once or twice. They are actually in the making of a second one. If you catch up on this one soon you could be apart of the early release of the second game. Also we have a 15% discount off your total if you purchase a pack of batteries. Which might I add will help power your Hinobi device as you play this game." She said selling the product and making a bigger profit out of the customer no problem.

Mitch stares at her in a daze, he hates to say it, but witnessing that made her more appealing and attractive to him. Thats one of the things he liked about her, she was resourceful and welcoming, smart. He also hates to admit he finds her adorable at times. He was lost in thought as he looked at her, when all of a sudden someone sneaked up on him, "Mitch? What are you doing?" Zarah said. Mitch yelp and jumped up. But then quickly went and hid as Kitty turned and looked towards their direction. She spots Zarah there and waves. Zarah waves back and looks at Mitch as Kitty walked off to help another customer.
