Chapter 26: Mitch Match

Third P.O.V

"Alright noobs. Now can you tell me what is going on? Like why was there a giant glitch version of myself?!" Mitch said with his arms crossed. "Ok, so we were looking for Kit to tell her that you have feelings for her and then we find out she's in the training room. She apparently modified a dating simulator game to where you are in it. So then as I was talking to her Miko was playing the game but under her name. This caused Kitty to lose some affection levels with digital you. This caused her to get upset and try and fix the game while crying. We tried to tell her that you like her but she wouldn't believe us. Her tears got into the system causing the game to glitch. And then you saw the rest." Five said at once quickly.

Mitch, who didn't say anything, walked pass them. "Mitch? Where are you going?" Five said. Mitch stayed silent as everyone watched his every move. He deactivated his Hinobi glitch tech uniform, leaving him in some casual clothes. Mitch got into his Hinobi van and drove to Mama Miyamoto's to get some pasta. He then drove the the bridge, and his hunch was correct. There he sees Kitty leaning against the side. Looking off into the distance. She actually had her hair down from her signature pigtails, it was longer than he expected. The wind blowing it. It captivated Mitch as the purple parts shimmered in the sunset. Mitch steps out of his van, a bag of food in his hand. He leans against the rails beside her as he placed the food between them on the ground. "Hey." He said, breaking the silence. Kit tears up again at the sound of his voice. Turns around with her back on the rails. She sinks down to the ground and cries, her knees pushed up against her, her arms covering her face, and her hair creating a curtain around her head. She was embarrassed, but also the fact that he was here broke her from holding in her tears.

Mitch's eyes widen and shows a sad look. He then sits down beside her. He then wraps his arm around her. Causing Kit's sobs to calm down, but also tense up in shock. "I'm sorry." Kit said after composing herself and wiping the tears and bit of snot that ran down her nose. "You have nothing to be sorry for." Mitch said softly. "You know, Five and Miko told me what happened." Mitch said as he glanced at her to see her reaction. Kit covered her face in embarrassment with a groan. "And I gotta say, I'm flattered." Mitch said with a small smile, trying to lighten the mood. Not used to showing such softness towards anyone else. "Wh-what?" Kit asked, sniffling, confused as she looked pass the curtain of hair she had. "I mean, I knew you were attracted to me. But to code a whole dating simulator for me? I say that takes the trophy, major achievement." Mitch said as he brushed his hair back. Kit couldn't help but smile and blush a little, even after all that has happened. "Y-yeah, I guess." Kit said blushing as she hugged her legs closer to her, avoiding eye contact.

Mitch decided to open up her bucket of spaghetti. He took a fork and swirled her some on a fork and held the fork to her mouth. He did the best genuine smile he could muster without it making it seem like his usual cocky smiles. Kit's eyes widen at the sight of his smile, but smiles and takes a bite. Grabbing the bucket from him and continued to eat, humming in delight. It was silent between them. Kit kinda plying with her food as she ate, waiting to see if Mitch would say anything. "So...is what you said true?" Kitty asked out of the blue. Mitch was taken off guard at her breaking the silence, "is what true?" He asked as he looked down at his food. "What Miko and Five came to tell me. Is it true that...you may like like me,....more than a friend or coworker?" Kit said as she avoided eye contact, scared of his answer as she picked at her food.

Mitch then thought back to all the times him and Kit has interacted with each other. From the day they first met, and she made up for the troubling day with spaghetti. The time he couldn't resist her begging cat like eyes to help them after their first patrol. When they hung out at the arcade after a day of her keeping him from a high level XP glitch. Her helping him get better. And everything in between. Realizing how much him and her has been through together and how their connection grew with out him knowing it. "Y-yeah, i-it's true. I like you Kitty, it just...took me a while to realize it ." Mitch said quietly, turning to see Kitty's reaction. She had a wide eyed look and a blush forming on her face. "Will you excuse me?" She said as she ran to the end of the bridge, and began to do a victory dance as if he couldn't see her. Cheering and throwing her fist in the air, like a child on Christmas.
