"Mommy, we're here!"

I turned my head to where the voice is coming and there, I immediately saw my little girl in her Dad's arms, waving at me with a big welcoming smile. I smiled at them, waving back as I take big steps towards them. I was so excited to see the two and missed them so much that I can't help myself but turn my walk into run.

Oliver's smile went wider when I started running. I let go of my suitcase and spread my arms to give them a hug. He opened his one arm for me too and wrapped it around my waist as soon as I went in for a hug. Mavi giggled as they both hugged me back.

"I missed you so much!" I took Mavi from Oliver and carried her to give her a tight hug. She also wrapped her arms around my neck. I planted kisses on her cheeks."Happy birthday, my Vida. God, you're growing up."

"Thank you, Mommy," she said and kissed me too on my cheek. I put her down, so I could also greet Oliver who was watching us happily.

"Hi, love," I put my arms around him, giving him a kiss on his lips. He held my waist, responding to my kiss. "I missed you, too. I was only away for almost a week, yet it felt like forever."

"I know, Mavi felt the same. She always waits for your call everytime," he told me and looked at our daughter. She agreed to what her Dad said and even giggled. I chuckled and caressed her hair. "Should we go? Mavi's birthday party is later, there are still many things to prepare."

I nodded and asked him to get my luggage. It's just one suitcase, so he'll be fine with it. I held Mavi's hand and followed Oliver to his car. He opened his car for me and Mavi. I helped my daughter first to get in the car before gettin in the shotgun seat. Oliver put my suitcase in the back of the car and got in the car after that.

I went to New York last week because I got an invite from a celebrity friend. He was a singer and I owe him really a lot when I was a solo artist, so when he invited me for his show, I couldn't say no. Sandali lang naman niya akong kailangan. I was only in New York for five days.

During those five days, I left Mavi with her Dad. Hindi naman naging mahirap para sa kanila na maiwan nang sila lang dalawa. Mavi stayed in Oliver's apartment since he can't stay in our house because of his work. Buti rin ay nadadala niya sa office ang anak niya dahil wala siyang mapag-iiwanan. Well, I told him to call Shawn or Tita Primrose if he needed to leave Mavi for a while. But he told me it won't be a problem since his friends were there, too.

It was Mavi's birthday today. Nasakto sa araw ng pag-uwi ko galing New York. It's actually a good thing that I'm able to be here on her birthday. Hindi ko talaga tatapusin 'yung show kung hindi ako aabot sa birthday niya at uuwi nalang ako ng maaga.

"We're here, love," Oliver said as the car stopped. I opened my eyes and saw that we're already in the garage. I took my seatbelt off and went out of the car. Mavi also jumped out of the car and ran inside the house, didn't wait for us.

I just waited for Oliver to get my suitcase. I held his free hand and walked with him towards the house. When we got in the house, I was welcomed by Manang Rowena, Lucy and Kuya Ben. I smiled and gave them a hug one by one.

"Buti naman nakauwi ka ng maayos," Manang Rowena said after hugging me. Lucy couldn't wait for her turn and pulled me into a hug. Parang ang tagal kong nawala dito sa Pilipinas sa higpit ng yakap niya.

"Na-miss kita, Ma'am! Parang apat na taon kang nawala dito!" She joked and let go of me. I shook my head, chuckling at her. I also greeted Kuya Ben.
