A chapter to acknowledge the positive in my life and progress I've made in the past few years. A hopeful chapter I wish I could share with my younger self.

A life for him
Everyday is a love letter to the little boy I once was.
An acknowledgement of the fear that was once in my heart, and a look in the eyes to tell him it will be okay.
Every poem I write is for him, to share his pain, or highlight his lovely future.
Every moment I have a genuine smile across my face I share with him, letting him see that things really do get better, that he is safe.
Every friend I make is to show him he's not alone.
Every story I write is a tale for him to fall asleep with.
Every entry is to spread the awareness of better days or hold his hand through the hard ones.
Every day I do it all for him.

Dancing with a stranger to dancing with myself
In my past I ached with a lack of understanding of who I was.
I didn't recognize my reflection,
I didn't know what I cherished or how to describe myself,
I often felt I wasn't a person at all.
Although I cannot pinpoint a moment of change,
I have seen small moments add up to a greater understanding.
I look at myself my of reflection of the water with happiness because I understand, love, and recognize the man looking back at me.
