The last chapter for letters from sixteen as I am almost past that age. I am nearly seventeen! In this poem I really aim to capture all this book has done for me. Thank you to my supporters. Thank you Ezra! Thank you to everyone who has read my writing and has made it this far. I hope you can take something from these writings and know that the support has meant more than I can put into words.
The last letter
Letters from sixteen has become quite the tale.
In April I began writing as to revisit my passions,
I'd soon find I enjoy poetry more than I'd ever known.
In may it was the very thing that got me through the times of biting my hand until it bled.
It was a shoulder to cry on and a hand to hold, a lit candle in my darkest hour.
Poetry has become my greatest passion.
Through this book I have met incredibly beautiful people and made deeply meaningful friendships.
I feel as if I have found what I have been looking for.
It is a release of pain, a way for a greater understanding, and a photograph of my moments.
Nothing helps quite like spilling myself onto the page.
It has helped me see things in myself I never saw before,
I have grown to have a different understanding of life.
It truly captured the beautiful mess of a painting that is being sixteen.
